Description

Beautiful and Massively Rare Original 1968 U.K. Stereo 1st Pressing (1//1//1//1 Matrix!!!!) Double Album 'The Beatles (The White Album)' by The Beatles!!! Earliest Possible 1st press w/ Dark Apple Labels Complete with All 4 Portraits and Original Poster!!! A Very Rare Earliest 1st Press Album!!!

You are bidding on the mega rare 1968 U.K. Stereo 1st pressing of The Beatles most Controversial LP; the eponymous 'The Beatles' (but known to most as 'The White Album'.) This record split the critics like no other upon release.  What makes this record so special however is that it is the earliest UK stereo 1st pressing with Matrix endings 1//1//1//1 and dark apple centre labels complete with all 4 original photos, massive original poster and both original die-cut inners - all 100% Complete and 100% original!!! Finding a complete UK 1st press copy in this condition today is very hard indeed!!! Cat number PCS 7068. All labels carry the 'Sold in UK' and 'Apple Records' rim texts. This is complete with its 1st press thickly laminated & top leading Garrod & Lofthouse embossed gatefold sleeve and black die-cut inner sleeves!!! There are very few pressings left in this condition today so don't miss this one!!! It's the original UK 1st pressing in Stereo in fully complete condition with all original components is a  very rare indeed to find today!!! Don't miss this one!!!

As you'd expect, the cool 1st press dark apple centre labels are in superb condition!!! There are NO Scribbles. NO lifting or Bubbling and NO unwanted writing of any kind to the centre labels - just the one or two light spindle and that it!!! The gramophone rims containing the all important 1st press matrix are also Mint-. Most of these Apple 1st pressings were played to death in the 1960's & 70's and on the rare occasions they  turn up today it is usually full of scratches and gouges with a dull sheen and totally worn out. This one is NOT and the record stills retains a beautiful sheen, and although not perfect it has survived remarkably well and is certainly one of the better original stereo Apple copies I have seen!!! The record does have a one or two hairlines, which are waxy and purely superficial and in no way effect the playing if this superb record!!!! The discs still retains ALL their original gloss and shine and have NO dulling and NO nasty greying of the grooves!!! It really is a beautiful looking example of this rare record, they just never turn up like this anymore!!! ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT!!!  It is great to find that the record plays as very well with only a VERY few isolated pops (barely ANY), NO sticking, and NO jumps!!! There is some VERY minor background noise in a VERY few places - though this is NOT crackle and it certainly CANNOT be heard over the music!!! However I WILL NOT fall into the trap of over-grading to compensate for age and rarity and the record must PROPERLY grade visually Very Good+!!! Believe me this record is NOT over-graded in ANY way!!!

The classic thickly laminated top-loading embossed Garrod & Lofthouse Gatefold Sleeve is also ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL with NO Seam Wear, NO Seam Splits (save for some minor feathering of the opening edge - very common on theses sleeves, but better than you will find on most others), NO Ringwear, NO Rips/Tears/Nicks, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!!  It has VERY LITTLE of the discolouration associated with the sleeve - most turn up yellow nowadays! However this one is not and retains a beautiful cream colouration, with only the slightest hint of any discolouration!!! The laminate is absolutely beautiful, there is NO Lifting, NO Creasing and NO Cracking (save for a little to the spine- unavoidable with this sleeve, but again, way better than most I have seen!). The flipbacks are nice tight and shiny!!! There is thin scuff line in the laminate running vertically along a margin in the back side, but is not major and in no way detracts from this beautiful sleeve. I have tried to highlight this in the images. The sleeve is is nice and stiff with a good thick strong spine and mint legible spine text, and folds out perfectly to reveal a stunning unblemished white laminated inner gatefold!!! This sleeve easily grades as Excellent!!! It is in no way over-graded!!!

Thick Chunky 1st Press Vinyl

All 4 Photos Complete and Present

1st Press Poster

1st Press Dark Apple Labels

1st Press Black Die-Cut Inners

Top Loading Garrod & Lofthouse Thickly Laminated Embossed Gatefold

The 4 heavy photos are all present and complete (not missing John or Paul like most copies!!!). They are in all in Excellent condition and look like they have hardly ever been removed from the sleeve. No pin holes etc. The lyric-printed poster also grades as Excellent, also no sign of it ever having been put on a wall etc.!!! The original die-cut black inners are in very good condition but do have some small nicks coming out from the inner windows so grade as very good-.  To recap: This is one of the very first pressings in stereo format, way back in 1968!!! They hardly ever show up today and when the do it is never with in this condition and fully complete like this one!!! An absolutely essential (and very rare) Pressing for any Beatles/ Classic Pop fan to to own!!! Don't miss this one!!!

A little note about insurance - Please read carefully... If the value of your record(s) is over £30, your invoice will include an insured option. Being the responsible adults you are, it is entirely up to you to take this up  - we strongly advise you to do this but will not hassle you about it. You either add the required insurance or you don't. If you do add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will get a refund. Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards.  If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...

Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.

We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
