After 20 years of collecting, the time has come for me to sell my Beatles collection and let other collectors appreciate some of the records and memorabilia I've accumilated over the years. Please check out my other listings and remember to save me as a favourite seller, as every week I'll be listing more and more increasingly rare, collectible and desirable Beatles records!
Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.

This auction is for a very rare 1969 stereo press of the Beatles LP 'A Hard Day's Night'!
This particular pressing dates from 1969 and is a very rare 'transition' pressing between variations. In mid 1969 the tax laws that required UK domestic presses to feature the 'Sold in the UK...' statement since 1964 were changed, and so this text on the label was removed. (This happened literally just a couple of months before Parlophone adopted the EMI 'one box' silver / black label design that the other EMI labels were beginning to use)
However, it appears that during this particular transition there was a mixup with the labels, as on this particular pressing the side 1 label correctly omits the 'Sold in the UK' statement whereas the side 2 label still features it!
The 1969 presses of this LP that omit the 'Sold in the UK' statement are incredibly rare and hardly ever turn up for sale! By the time this was happening the fans were buying albums like Abbey Road and Let It Be and the earlier albums were barely selling at all. To find one that was caught between this initial transition is a very hard thing to do! This is a label variation that was only available for a couple of months at a time when nobody was really buying the album. It's because of this that these are incredibly hard to find!

The cover is showing some light wear but, overall, is holding up great! The front cover has a mostly clean, thick laminate with a little disc impression and some laminate creasing around the mouth edge and around the edge. There's a little sticker residue just under the Stereo mark (should be an easily clean). Top and bottom seams are both holding tightly with no wear or splitting of any kind. The spine has a couple of little laminate creases but has no worn or split in any way and is fully legible. The back has yellowed a little but is still quite pale with no real dirt and just a little browning around the mouth edge. There's a small, purplish stain at the bottom. No real disc impression that I can see, and some little laminate creases on the overflaps, but this is pretty minimal. Overall, really nice sleeve! Inner Sleeve: EX-

The original red EMI inner sleeve is included and is holding nicely. It has yellowed slightly and has a little wear at the opening with some very light creasing and a little disc impression. No seams have split and everything is holding up tightly. Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : VG+/EX-

The playing surface has a lovely, crisp shine to it and just some light scuffing. Looking nice!

The labels are clean with bright text, but are showing a little damage. The side 1 label has some spindlewear that's gone into the white paper. There's a fair amount of light spindlewear and light but noticeable whitening around the centrehole. The side 2 label has quite a lot of light spindlewear which has caused less damage to the label, but still has a few little white patches. There is some whitening around the centrehole. The yellowing in the Parlophone title seems fainter and a little patchy on the side 2 label - looks like a manufacturing error..

All LPs will be mailed out in a strong, corrugated cardboard LP mailing box with the LP outside the sleeve. Extra sheets of corrugated cardboard will be used where applicable and FRAGILE tape used
