Audiophile quality recording; All 11 Tracks are TRUE STEREO,      ...including the First Real STEREO Mixes of "Penny Lane" and "Baby You're a Rich Man".            SALE ITEM INFO:  Pristine Vinyl (in 'soft-sleeve') and Cover (in shrink-wrap).   German vinyl LP released on APPLE stereo label with catalog number 1C 062-04 449.  Runout Matrix, stamped: SHZE 327 A-1/ 04449-A-1 and SHZE 327 B-3/ 04449-B-3        HISTORY OF THIS LP:  This LP contains the RARE 1971 German Electrola pressing, that has the sonically superior TRUE STEREO Mastering! All of the other MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR regular releases had 're-channeled stereo', also known as 'duophonic', or 'fake stereo' or 'mock stereo'. This stereo German MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR album version was first released 1971 and is the only MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR LP that has ALL of the eleven tracks in FULL TRUE STEREO as opposed to duophonic (or re-channeled stereo). Not even the highly acclaimed 'Original Master Sound / MFSL version' can say they contain all of the MMT tracks in true stereo. In particular, these are the very FIRST TRUE STEREO versions of "Penny Lane" and "Baby You're A Rich Man". It wasn't until 1987, when standardizing the Beatles’ catalogue for world-wide Compact Disc release in 1987, that the 1971 (stereo) Magical Mystery Tour album was included with the otherwise British album mono line-up. In 2009, remastered stereo (per 1971) and mono (per 1967) Magical Mystery Tour album CDs were released.
      This LP includes the unique stereo mix of "Baby You're A Rich Man". It was originally mixed, in mono, on May 11, 1967 at Olympic Sound Studios. It was included on the US album MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR (made available in both mono and ‘mock stereo’). For the 1971 German release of the MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR album, George Martin and recording engineer Geoff Emerick created the first true stereo mix of this song. This stereo mix was unique: unable to recreate the spin-echo effect that had been introduced at the mixing stage of the original recording, they simply omitted it. And, the stereo mix fades out approximately eight seconds earlier than the mono version.

“Baby You’re a Rich Man” was mixed in stereo for a second time for the 1999 DVD release of the YELLOW SUBMARINE film and the accompanying YELLOW SUBMARINE Soundtrack album.

     PERSONAL NOTE: I purchased this LP new, and only played it a few times because I forgot that I had it. I have always been very careful with my records...especially my Beatles LPs. This vinyl record is in excellent condition, as is the cover, which is still protected by the original shrink-wrap. The shrink has a blank label on it for some reason, but I left the shrink-wrap 'as is', to protect the cover. The record has been stored in a 'soft-sleeve' for extra protection.
