The BEATLES. 4 song EP. Germany. 45 rpm vinyl record. Vinyl Condition is Goldmine VG+. From May 1963, though a previous owner wrote March 1963 on the back ( though that’s the month of the Please Please Me LP release). VG+ Means this one looks great, mostly shiny, several scuffs and marks, but plays thru fine. Odeon made great vinyl. And, labels are very clean. Sleeve shows it’s age with some writing but not bad for 57 years!! Front and back are fully laminated, no edge flaps like UK. Note labels, “Made in Germany” in a straight line on the bottom indicates a pre-1966 label pressing. This is supposed to be the earliest worldwide Beatles 4 song EP, even before any from UK. See “45cat” discography info. Great site!! Vinyl looks great and plays thru well, Labels are clean on both sides, Nice picture sleeve, clean front, but back side has some small writings. VG+ overall. My second highest grade. A Great Collectable. From Germany. Originals from 1963 are very hard to find. Note the Cliff Richard sleeves on the back, as far as I can tell they pre-date May 1963. The other known sleeve back side shows EPs from A Hard Days Night, summer 1964. The original early Germany 1963 label shows BEIM and GEMA indicators on the A side (Twist and Shout), but only the GEMA indicator on the A side from 1964. This record is the original 1963 copy!! The 4 songs on this EP: TWIST AND SHOUT and THERE’S A PLACE plus BOYS and I SAW HER STANDING THERE. They are 4 songs from the Please Please Me UK LP from spring of 1963. All 4 were eventually on 45 singles in USA. All Beatles EPs are universally MONO (except some versions of Magical Mystery Tour, and a few German exceptions from 1965.
