The BEATLES official USA Capitol/EMI 1988 Rainbow label reissue release of their Original US only 1982 Purple label STEREO LP album 20 GREATEST HITS. In reality, the FIRST 2 songs on A side are MONO. No true Stereo of those 2 songs, worldwide! Have a listen!! Originally issued on Purple labels with “large” Capitol logo. Then came Rainbow labels ( Capitol ran these 1983-1987). Then in 1988 this was on Capitol Purple labels (with “small” Capitol logo), same issue number throughout!! Then this LP was discontinued when Capitol/EMI issued the 27 Hit LP “ONE” in 2001. Note the print style on these labels matches those labels I have for sale of other albums from the first set of releases of US Please Please Me through Revolver from 1987!!! This one is produced by George Martin (except The Long and Winding Road by Phil Spector). Fantastic!! As always!! Perhaps the Beatles least iconic cover on a record album ever!! Regardless, It is graded Goldmine EX. I bought it SEALED, but opened it to verify the label style. It is UNPLAYED. Truly Excellent! These were the 20 Beatles hits that went to Number One in USA. 1964-1970! Of course every song is a classic, even today, over 50 years later. The Beatles aimed at getting the LP to market after the fading sales of their 1962-1966 Red Album, and 1967-1970 Blue Album from the previous decade. It reached Number One before Christmas! And all 20 songs were originals by Lennon McCartney and all 20 had been Number One singles! Top that!! They all still sound so fresh, with Incredible energy from the Boys as they attack your ears with superb melodies and harmonies! This is a beautiful record, quite wonderful sounding!! The cover/sleeve is well kept, in plastic sleeve since its purchase in 1988 by me. I quickly learned to handle them as little as possible, especially one of these “new” reissues which I thought would become rarer and greatly treasured!!
