Description
The BEATLES 45. USA Capitol CEMA Purple label issue for 30th anniversary of 1962 “Ringo on drums” version of LOVE ME DO. Labels are common purple 1990s CEMA style Issued from 1992 thru 1996 for 31 different singles, most reissues, about a dozen were new combos of Beatles tunes. 3 singles were released on 2 colors of vinyl: Love me do (Red alternate), Taxman (Black alternate), Norwegian wood (Green alternate). Of course the rarer versions (fewer issued) of these 3 are quite expensive!! See photo 3 for Red version image!! This 45 Black Vinyl Condition is Goldmine EX. Mostly shiny, few scuffs, very clean and plays thru well. And labels are both nice, except small numeral “2” On A side by the title! Still, a SUPER Collectable, the only US/Capitol issuance of LOVE ME DO ‘62 (the Ringo on drums version). I call the Andy White version LOVE ME DO ‘63 because it first was issued on UK Please Please Me LP in early 1963!! These 2 songs on this CEMA 45 are from the first Beatles studio session, Sept. ‘62: LOVE ME DO ‘62 and PS I LOVE YOU. Their first 1962 single in UK was shipped to Canada and released as this version single in early 1963, the early version with Ringo on drums!! But when Parlophone issued the UK Please Please Me LP in March 1963, Love me do had been switched to the Andy White on drums version (a totally redone version). Both sides are MONO as are all the Canada Capitol Beatles 45s until Get Back. Stereo did not become common on 45s till 1969! Request both my lists if interested, Top 100 Hard to Find Beatles Songs on 45 Singles Worldwide, or Beatles 150 Songs in Stereo on 45 Singles Worldwide, no charge. See photos, actual record.
