The BEATLES 45 rpm vinyl record. Vinyl Condition is Goldmine EX. My highest grade. Beautiful vinyl, both labels clean. Basically unplayed! It’s confirmed in USA all the 25 common Beatles Capitol records Hold your hand thru The Long and Winding Road were pressed on Purple labels in 1978, plus 3 later singles, Obladi, Helter skelter, and Sgt Peppers, 28 total Verifief! I have all of them. I purchased them in my search for Stereo Beatles singles. There are 3 Purple USA Capitol label series. 1978, 1988, and Cema 1990s. Each has different indicators. This 1978 series is VERY hard to track down, in SHORT SUPPLY compared to ‘88 Starline Series and 90s Cema Series which are generally easy to find. On 1978 Purple singles the “Capitol” logo is larger, printed closer to the center hole. The rim print starts with “Mfd. by Capitol”. The entire set! Then the 1988 series has a smaller “Capitol” logo, noticably farther from the center hole. And the rim print starts with “Manufactured by Capitol”, printed in full, not abbreviated. And most ‘88s have “Starline” printed at 10 o’clock on the labels, but not all. About the same group of singles as the 1978 set. But 3-4 different singles. Finally the Purple Label Capitol CEMA set from ‘92-96. About 32 total records pressed, all pressed on colored vinyl (and 3 of 32 on Black vinyl also). About 22 of 32 were Beatles reissues, and another 10 or so were previous Beatles LP songs now issued on 45s in USA for the first time, such as Blackbird, It’s all too much, Hide your love away, Things we said today, Taxman, Lucy in the sky, Here comes the sun, etc. some, like Blackbird, issued for the ONLY time Worldwide!! It’s a great colorful set to own but getting more and more expensive! Red vinyl Lucy in the sky runs $75, Red vinyl Love me do runs $100, Green vinyl Norwegian wood runs $300, Ouch!, and Black vinyl Taxman runs $400!!! Double Ouch!!! Back to this one: 1978 press of I FEEL FINE and SHES A WOMAN, both sides are MONO on this edition. Capitol NEVER issued these 2 in Stereo in USA! BUT.........Capitol Canada did, believe it or not!! The tan / olive label Capitol Starline Single from 1976, same time as Orange Label Forever Sleeves, issued 2 versions of the I feel fine single, one marked Stereo and one marked Mono. Accidentally, I’m sure, the one marked Stereo is Mono, and ........the one marked Mono is STEREO!!!!! What the ——-! Until I found it I knew only Australia had issued SHE’S A WOMAN as a 45 single in Stereo. Turns out both countries did in 1976. In Mono they are both Common Beatles songs worldwide.
