The BEATLES 45 rpm vinyl record. VeeJay 581. 1964. USA Second version of Beatles release of early Please Please Me single, this version: PLEASE PLEASE ME and FROM ME TO YOU. Vinyl Condition is Goldmine EX. My highest grade. Nice shiny vinyl, some light scuffs, lightly played. Labels are EX also, clean, original Black, no writing, possible removed sticker mark on each side, but no damage or residue. There is a common White Sleeve included. This is a great way to get this rarity version of VJ 581 release on 45 Single worldwide!! 3 others version of this same label style of 581 are on eBay today, all $60-$100 but in worse condition!! Black label, plain VJ, No Oval, No Brackets, No full “VeeJay” logo. Just “VJ”. And there were 3 label colors of this version, Black, White, & Yellow. Probably Black being most common. But make no mistake, this label style “VJ” is way less common than the Rainbow, Bracket, or Oval label styles!!! (For students of the labels, this is Bruce Spizer label code VJ581.06). Back in mid 1963 VJ had released VJ 498 and VJ 522, matching UK versions of Please Please Me and separate From Me To You singles. They did not sell well. Both are worth $100 plus today in decent shape, and hard to find!! By January 1964 VeeJay, which had rights to 16 Beatles songs, Love me do thru Thank you girl, had decided to combine Please Please Me and From me To you as one upgraded release, VJ 581. It went to Number one in March 1964, and sales of VJ498 & VJ522 ended, making it today’s super rarity!! Both sides are MONO. Neither song is Hard to Find as Singles Worldwide.
