BEATLES MEGA RARE '64 VEE JAY DISC JOCKEY ADVANCED PROMOTIONAL COPY 'DO YOU WANT TO KNOW A SECRET' & 'THANK YOU GIRL' WITH CORRECT ORIGINAL *MINT* 1964 VJ SLEEVE
Released March 23, 1964, this Rare Blue and White Label Beatles VJ 587 was sent in advance to disc jockeys to promote the release of their new single on Vee Jay Records. Extremely rare and difficult to find in this three-line title version on the 'A' side, with 4 blue crossbars, 2 bracket logos as the words 'Promotional Copy' appear twice under each VJ bracket, while '45' appears 4 times in the crossbars.
'Do You Want To Know A Secret' Label has the A side title on three lines, while 'Thank You Girl' as the B side title, on two lines with thick print. The trail off area to the A side has initials “URJ”, a hand etched circled “R” and the machine stamped MR logo. This record was manufactured by Monarch Records. The appropriate stampings and etchings in the wax guarantee you that this is a genuine artifact !!
While this DJ advanced promo copy version is extremely rare, is does show that this Disc Jockey played this particular record many times showing scratches and scuffs, and while the label has NO writing, NO stickers, NO rips/tears, and NO tape, it does show ring wear, and all in all, it's still nice !!
One of the interesting things to note is that the writing credits are listed as McCartney-Lennon, where it is later changed to the more traditional credits we are accustom to of Lennon-McCartney !!
The correct Original 1964 VJ tab-cut sleeve is Mint Pristine with ZERO seam splits, NO writing, NO tape, NO stickers, NO rips, NO tears, NO fading, NO marks and shows ZERO wear of any kind ! Flawless !!
