Description
Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.

Rare '66-'69 Mono Press!
On offer here a rare mono pressing of the UK Parlophone LP 'A Hard Day's Night'. This is the hard to find later mono press dating from the late '60s and features the Sold in UK statement, Gramophone rimtext and small 'mono' format on the sleeve. 'I Should Have Known Better' also starts on a separate line whereas, on earlier presses, it was on the same line as 'A Hard Day's Night'.
By the time this LP came out mono was fast becoming an obsolete format. The fall in price of stereo record players and stereo records meant that everybody was leaving the mono presses on the shelves. By 1969, it had become completely obsolete and mono was discontinued.
Because of this, and because by this time fans were onto buying copies of Revolver, Sgt. Pepper and beyond, sales of their earlier records were very low. Couple this with the fact that this is in the poorly selling mono format, and you have yourself a record that is very hard to find!

Title A Hard Day's Night Year of Release 1966-1969 Catalogue Number PMC 1230 Label Yellow / Black Parlophone with Sold in UK statement and Gramo rimtext Tax Code on Disc - Sleeve Manufacturer Garrod and Lofthouse Side 1 Matrix Number XEX 481-3N Side 2 Matrix Number XEX 482-3N Side 1 Stampers 8 / MDD Side 2 Stampers 1O / ALD Sleeve Condition The sleeve is in VG condition. The sleeve is holding up okay but is showing its age. The front is clean with a little creasing around the outer edges. Top seam has a small split just starting to form in the middle. Bottom seam is fine. Spine has browned a little and has some little creases running through it but has not split or torn. Back has browned slightly but looks pretty clean. There's a small tear to the overflap at the top right. Inner Sleeve Condition - Inserts Condition - Disc Condition(VISUALLY GRADED) The disc is in G+ condition. The playing surface, overall, is looking okay with a decent shine, but has a lot of light scuffing all over the playing surface. Nothing serious or nasty looking, though. Label Condition The labels are in EX- condition. The labels are clean with no stickers or tears and just a small name on side 2 to the right of the £ logo written in black biro. There's a little, light spindlewear and a touch of whitening around the centrehole.
All records have been visually graded under a strong, 125W natural light desk lamp.

My Regarding Vinyl Grading:
MINT No true preowned disc can be mint. The highest I will ever grade a disc is NM+/M- if it looks untouched and unplayed, but the MINT description will only be for records I personally know have never been played (i.e. I personally bought from new) or for copies that are still sealed. NEAR MINT (NM) For discs that look near flawless and which may have just the slightest, barely visible little whispy marks here and there. EXCELLENT (EX) For discs that still retain a brilliant, clean shine but does have some light scuffs here and there. VERY GOOD (VG) For discs that still look clean and have a nice shine to them, but do have a fair amount of light scuffmarks and/or some light scratches. GOOD (G) For discs that look like they have been loved and have a fair amount of scuffs and surface scratches. Not in terrible condition, but would look like it would play with a lot of crackle. FAIR (F) For discs that may have some life left in them but are pretty trashed with numerous surface scuffs and heavier scuffs and scratches etc POOR (P) For discs that are unplayable and look completely trashed. Discs like this would only ever be offered if they were insanely rare.
