Description

After 20 years of collecting, the time has come for me to sell my Beatles collection and let other collectors appreciate some of the records and memorabilia I've accumilated over the years. Please check out my other listings and remember to save me as a favourite seller, as every week I'll be listing more and more increasingly rare, collectible and desirable Beatles records!

Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.

This auction is for an incredibly rare and very seldom seen copy of the Beatles LP 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' on the Silver / Black Parlophone label. This is the mega rare EMERALD Contract Press!

In the early 70's the Northern Ireland label Emerald manufactured a very small run of copies of the Beatles LP 'Sgt. Peppers'. Emerald itself was a subsidiary of Vogue Records in Belfast. The Emerald contract presses are very easy to spot as they have rough, textured labels with the Emerald name embossed on the label.

Only a very tiny number of Emerald contract presses seem to have been manufactured as, today, they almost never come up for sale! They are incredibly rare and extremely collectible! These are so, so hard to find and so this might be your only chance to add one to your collection!!

I also have the equally rare With the Beatles Emerald contract press up for auction now. Check out my other listings!

The Cover : EX

The cover is showing looking really good for its age! The front cover has a nice, rich colour to it with a predominantly clean laminate to it. There's just a light touch of disc impression, mostly along the bottom quarter, and just a few little creases in places around the edges. The mouth edge is looking pretty sharp but the corners overall have rounded slightly. Top and bottom seams are both holding tight with no wear or splitting at all. Spine is holding tight with no real damage, and has no wear, splits or wear with fully legible text. The back cover, again, is predominantly clean on the laminate with just a touch of disc impression. The back has a lovely rich red colour with just a little creasing around the edges - mostly down the spine. The inner gatefold is gorgeous with rich colours and a completely clean, rich laminate to it. Overall, nice cover!! . Cut Out Insert : EX

The original cut-out is included (the slightly lighter reissue cut out and not the original that had darker, richer colours) which is complete and free from any cuts or tears. Has no wear, stains or anything and just a little, light creases in places. Looking good!   Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : VG++

The playing surface is looking good with a nice shine - might need a little bit of a clean though (I'll let the winning bidder do that). The disc has some light scuffing but nothing really heavier. Looking good overall!

The labels are clean with bright, silver text. I can't really see any spindlewear at all and there's only the very lightest hint of white around the centrehole as you can see in the photos above. Top labels!
