An overall excellent copy of this 1964 UK 1st press Beatles classic with terrific MONO sound quality throughout
Label number : PMC 1230 Matrix numbers : XEX 481 - 3N, XEX 482 - 3N Stampers : 2 GA / 3 RT
The condition of the vinyl is excellent (EX)) - the vinyl has retained a lovely jet black sheen and remains flat and weighty. In normal daylight each side looks virtually unmarked and it is only with close inspection under a bright light that a few very wispy hairlines and extremely faint paper scuff marks come into view on each side, along with a 1cm very faint scuff line on track 1 of side 1 - each non-obvious, non-feelable and appearing to be purely superficial as borne out by the terrific MONO audio quality. Excellent (EX) condition labels with the only blemishes being just a few small and extremely faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label. The "K" and "T" tax codes, synonymous with 1st pressings, are embossed upon the side 1 label. Very good plus (VG+) condition original 1st press and rarer Ernest J. Day front-side laminated flipback outer sleeve with firm and unscuffed edges, firm spine with all spine text intact, well defined right angle corners with barely any rubbing at all, firm opening edges with no fraying, flipbacks in great order still, no laminate lift, and all art work, colours, photos and sleeve text remaining in impressively crisp condition with great definition still. The only blemishes are some non-obvious 1cm laminate crinkles adjacent and perpendicular to each of the front-side edges, a little occasional and very light browning/age discolouration on the reverse side next to the opening edge, the occasional small and very minor light handling/storage mark and a name and address neatly written towards the top right corner of the reverse side (if it wasn't for the name & address I would have no hesitation in grading the condition of this sleeve as "excellent"). Eminently presentable still and hard to believe that this sleeve is now 62 years of age! Excellent plus (EX+) MONO sound quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, or distortion and not a single click in sight - amazing! Even better than that - no background crackle or interference at all, with each and every track standing the test of time and remaining a great listen! Comes with original "USE EMITEX" die-cut poly-lined inner sleeve with "PATENTS APPLIED FOR" and "MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN" horizontal text, with no splits or tears, barely any creasing or age discolouration and remaining in great condition. Note that I always insert the vinyl into a poly-lined plain white sleeve in order to protect the original.
A really nice condition UK very 1st press copy of this Beatles classic and a great listen from start to finish.
