THE BEATLES - ABBEY ROAD

1969 UK STEREO 12" LP Apple PCS 7088

Matrix Numbers : Side 1  YEX 749 - 2, stampers 9, G L M;  Side 2  YEX 750 - 1, stampers G P M

A truly excellent copy of this 1969 classic - lovely shiny vinyl with impeccable audio quality

The condition of both sides of the vinyl is excellent+. No scuffs, no scratches (surface or otherwise). Just a few wispy hairlines and very light paper scuffs that are only really detectable under a bright light and even then the vinyl has to be tilted a the right angle. Truly impressive.

The laminated Garrod & Lofthouse outer sleeve is in excellent condition, with original, rich and vibrant "as new" colouring fully intact. Held up in a good light and tilted at the right angle some very mild ring wear does just come into evidence (both sides), and there is a little laminate lifting and creasing, most noticeable one the reverse side towards the top right hand corner (see photo). All edges, including the spine, are near perfect with no creasing or scuffing at all but the corners do suffer from just a little scuffing (more noticeable on the corners at the top and bottom of the spine).

The quality of the audio is superb. No skips, no pops or clicks, no distortion - flawless. There is not even the usual odd nano-second of static - extraordinary! Sit back and enjoy a wonderful listening experience of this iconic album.

Each label is near perfect. Look closely under a bright light and you can just detect a two very faint, small spindle traces adjacent to each of the centre holes but apaprt from that...perfect! Note that this copy is the raree mispressing with the "Her Majesty" ommission from the side 2 label.

The track listing is :

Side 1:

1. COME TOGETHER

2. SOMETHING

3. MAXWELL'S SILVER HAMMER

4. OH! DARLING

5. OCTOPUS'S GARDEN

6. I WANT YOU (She's so heavy)

Side 2 :

1. HERE COMES THE SUN

2. BECAUSE

3. YOU NEVER GIVE ME YOUR MONEY

4. SUN KING

5. MEAN MR MUSTARD

6. POLYTHENE PAM

7. SHE CAME IN THROUGH THE BATHROOM WINDOW

8. GOLDEN SLUMBERS

9. CARRY THAT WEIGHT

10. THE END

11. HER MAJESTY (not listed on Side 2 label)

Comes complete with a poly lined black inner sleeve, which itself is in excellent unsplit, untorn, and virtually uncreased condition.

An excellent copy of this classic, iconic record with sound quality that is hard to beat.

IF THIS ITEM INTERESTS YOU THEN YOU MAY LIKE TO TAKE A LOOK AT MY OTHER 60's/70'S VINYL OFFERINGS ALSO CURRENTLY ON EBAY : SOME REAL RARITIES!

If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige.

A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for over 45 years and have amassed a huge collection covering a varied genre, but mostly of 1960's and 70's origin. I worked in IT for 22 years before doing a complete career change to teach Maths in a high school at the ripe old age of 45.  But now I am retired and a combination of space requirements and a need to help fund my retirement has prompted me to "rationalise" my record collection and sell many of my much loved gems.

My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller, and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I'll sort out the problem. I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy.

On the subject of postage, I take great care in the packaging of all items, using a proper vinyl cardboard mailer along with at least two cardboard stiffeners. I take care in removing the record from the outer sleeve and properly protecting it in a separate white inner sleeve in order to prevent outer sleeve damage in transit. All items are posted Royal Mail 1st class and for items that sell for over £40 to non-UK bidders I insist upon "tracked and signed for" so please wait for an invoice before paying. I do NOT profiteer from postage costs. I DO take great care in minimising all risk thereby ensuring, as far as possible, that your purchase reaches it's destination in exactly the same condition as when I post it. Richard
