Description
An original first release UK "Abbey Road" by The Beatles cassette from 1970/1971 identified by its elementary newspaper-like inlay design, the lime green paper labels (they look yellow in the photos) with no EMI/Parlophone/Apple logo and the circular 1&7/8 i.p.s. denotation at the top of the spine inlay. The track listing is the same as the vinyl album, save for the exchange of "Here Comes The Sun" and "Come Together" at the starts of side1 and side 2. In its original clear "Norelco" case.
In very good condition, though there are two "nicks" in the inlay and a ringed "10" in pen mark on the inlay spine, and very minor raising to the labels. Otherwise a very respectable example which plays perfectly. This first release issue preceeded the introduction of the all gold reissues in January 1972, when the cassette market really took off, so it is quite rare. Produced by EMI when they were quite wary of the new music format and wondering how it may affect their vinyl sales.
