Description
THE BEATLES **ABBEY ROAD** Original 1969 UK PARLOPHONE PPCS 7088 LP
A great item here ................. in the late 1960's certain countries were not allowed by EMI to issue albums / 45's on the Beatles own Apple label , EMI UK had copies pressed up on the Parlophone label for Export Only ................ here is a 1969 UK Silver / Black - One EMI boxed logo pressing .............. these pressings rarely surface , a really great collectors item ..........
The album comes with the UK Apple sleeve , with a green and white 'Parlophone Label' sticker over the Apple logo on sleeve rear ...............
The sleeve is the 'In Line' Apple logo variation , detectable by the 'further away' photo focus ........ on the far right of the front cover , there is more of the first cream coloured stripe on the zebra crossing ...................

Recorded in the summer of 1969, was the last album recorded by the Beatles (Let It Be was recorded in January 1969 , and released in 1970) The Beatles: Paul McCartney (vocals, guitar, keyboards, bass); John Lennon (vocals, guitar, keyboards); George Harrison (vocals, guitar, synthesizer); Ringo Starr (vocals, drums, percussion). After the laborious disorganization and infighting that characterized early 1969's Let It Be sessions (as famously captured on film), the fractious four were willing to let George Martin take the reins and to work with him as a cohesive unit for the much more succinct production of their (and the decade's) swan song, Abbey Road. The superb performances make the album an artistic high point for all members of the group. Paul McCartney inspired the suite of songs that begins with "You Never Give Me Your Money." Often thought of as two long medleys, the songs that fill most of the second half of the album segue seamlessly into one another........ George Harrison had his first A-side on a Beatles' single ("Something"); John Lennon contributed a pair of heavy rockers ("Come Together" and "I Want You"); and Ringo Starr's "Octopus's Garden" was a favorite with children.

I add new listings most days..........please take a look
All items carefully graded audio-visually, and are played on a high quality system.
I usually begin items at a low price to generate interest and bidding.....................
Please feel able to bid with confidence , as a collector myself I realize the requirements in the gradings of sleeves and discs , and how important it is to recieve items in the condition as advertised in listings ........I grade the discs (using The UK Record Collector Grading System) beneath a light , to be sure of condition..................
I do not believe it is necessary to use the eBay buzzwords such as 'Stunning!! Rare!! Awsome!!, padded out with grossly long winded descriptions , many of the 'experts' who use this method of selling also add technical information , which is totally unfounded and incorrect to actual facts , and would be laughable , but for the fact that it is misleading........ I take time and care to grade items correctly and only list quality records, with concise and accurate grading descriptions......................
I have been a lifelong music fan , my first concert visit was in 1957 (Birmingham Town Hall Skiffle Contest!) and have bought records of all the great music since 1959 , and had the privelege of seeing most of the great artists live too (I saw The Beatles twice........and Segovia!)
I began selling professionally in 1976 , and have a wide knowledge of the items I sell , having bought copies of my own at the time of issue , always interested in the label and disc variations. If you have any queries , I will do my best to help.
Please check my feedback ratings , you will see that a large amount (over 2200) of my feedbacks are from repeat customers (many thanks).........and in the event of genuine complaints I will remedy the situation as soon as possible......
