Description
The Beatles
Abbey Road
2nd press
Fantastic 1969 Beatles UK LP. This was the Beatles' 12th LP, released on the 26th September. It was also the last official Beatles release that was recorded by them. Staying at number one for almost 18 consecutive weeks, it was only knocked off by The Rolling Stones' "Let It Bleed."
Catalogue number: Apple PCS 7088
Matrix Number Side 1: 749-2
Matrix Number Side 2: 750-1
(These matricies denote to me a second press)
Mothers/Stampers Side 1: MGH @ 8 O'clock 912 @ 2 O'clock
Mothers/Stampers Side 2: HRM @ 2 O'clock 1 @ 9 O'clock
Vinyl: MINT-. Lovely vinyl, Flat vinyl, Shiny vinyl....UNPLAYED VINYL!!! All it has on it, when taking it out the sleeve (carefully!!) is some dust! I am not even going to try to remove this dust as I may get more in the grooves, than remove it....that's up to you, before YOU are the FIRST to play her!
Labels: NMINT. Superb, labels, however, they are the lighter version.
(These labels denote to me a later press---please make your own mind up....I just write what I see and have seen before)
NO spindle marks.
NO "Sold in the UK..." text.
The outer text begins: "Apple Records all rights.." "Mfd. in U.K." text. VERY, VERY NICE LABELS!!!
The last song credit has "The End Her Majesty" on the Side 2 label.
Cover: EX-.The cover of this LP is Is lovely. The ONLY reason not to give it the Near mint- rating is because the top right corner has been bent-albeit briefly-at some point, leading to a light crease of 14cm. The alignment of the Apple Logo on the back is inline with the text. The spine is lovely, white and strong, it does have the evidence of some lifting areas to the spine, but nothing has broken through or popped. All corners are crisp and un-battered.
Inner: NMINT. White die-cut sleeve "Made in Great Britain."
WOW...A superb copy af a later pressing of this superb record in TOP GRADE CONDITION!!!
A note on grading:
'Mint' means I have just stepped out of the record shop in the 60's, never opened, nor played the record and kept it in fantasticaly dry and warm condtitons...unlikely isn't it!!
I am selling some more Beatles records and will give discounts on postage for more than 1 purchase.
