ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This is an original U.S. vinyl LP of the infamous BUTCHER COVER! The one offered here is a 2ND STATE or PASTE OVER with about 1/6th of the paste over peeled at the lower left. Also included is the original orange CAPITOL RECORDS company sleeve, as well as the original vinyl LP (rainbow labels). A professional peel job should make this copy a fantastic 3rd state!
ITEM CONDITION:
Decent partial peel with paper residue almost over the entire exposed butcher image. Small dot of removed butcher cover right above the baby doll's back resting on John's shoulder. Horizontal white streaks seen mainly at John's upper torso and his right knee. This is more of the butcher image removed, due to the glue used for the paste over.
The rest of the past over is in fine shape with surface wear, paper aging and blemishes. 1 inch indent mark at butcher Ringo's head, but not deep enough to damage butcher image. Jacket seem is entirely split except for clear tape in 3 to 3 1/2 inch segments. 2 at the top (it looks like there use to be 3), and 3 at the bottom. Broken 5 inch clear tape at jacket spine center.
Back of jacket has more surface wear, aging clear tape and paper aging. Tape removed at upper right corner. Stain at lower left bottom. Name "Steve Thompson" written in faded blue ballpoint at top center.
Original orange CAPITOL RECORDS company sleeve in VG+ shape. Edgewear on all sides, one crinkled corner and a small tear. Clear tape at 2 spots on the sleeve edge. Exposure fading at very top opening above "Capitol '66" title. No marks, stains or writing on images and text.
Vinyl is Good. Surface scratches on both sides, but no heavy gouges or cracks. Side 1 label has some red circular paint marks. Side 2 label is clean.
