Description
Beatles 3rd State Pro Peeled LA Mono Butcher Cover (No Record Included)
This Butcher Cover is a first time offering. Finding a peeled Los Angeles Butcher Cover in decent condition is not an easy task. These covers with the notorious super glue have been destroyed by the thousands through amateur peeling attempts. This is being sold at a slightly reduced price due to no record, inner sleeve or removed trunk slick being included and a few minor condition considerations. Regardless, take a look at the photos, this blows away 95% of all the #6 LA peels out there. Please see below for specific condition description.
This item will be safely and securely double boxed and shipped to you via Priority Mail. Please read complete description prior to bidding.
Condition:
Front of Jacket:
Front cover is nice with gorgeous LA colors and clarity. It cannot be over emphasized how difficult these West Coast peels can be, even for the most experienced artist. Capitol glue residue/minor pinpoint abrasions from the peeling process or any other issues are very minimal and don't interfere with the nice presentation of this jacket. There is a very light factory score mark on the right side of the jacket approximately 1/2 an inch from the mouth edge that runs the entire length of the jacket. This was not on either the trunk cover or the backing paper of the trunk cover so this must have occurred some time after the original Butcher Cover was manufactured and before the trunk paste over process. The edges on all second states were trimmed prior to the adherence of the trunk cover so possibly this is when it occurred. Regardless, not a big issue that interferes with the great look of this jacket. See large photo of Ringo for a close up of this issue.
See last photo for 2nd state jacket in the process of peeling. Please see photos to verify specific condition and feel free to contact with questions.
Seams:
Top seam is complete with just a slight rub/paper loss on the very right hand tip. Bottom seam is mostly complete too with just a little of a beginning seam crack in the middle inch of the bottom seam.. Please see photos to verify.
Spine:
Spine is decent with some cracking near the last half of the spine. Most spine writing is legible but the area near the bottom catalog number is a worn and only the "T" of T2553 remains. Please see photos to verify these areas.
Back Of Jacket:
The back of the jacket shows light wear and a few light stains, marks etc. (Please see photo of back).
Trunk Slick:
Removed Trunk Slick is NOT INCLUDED in this auction.
Record/Inner Sleeve:
There is NO RECORD or INNER SLEEVE included in this auction.
Terms Of Auction/Shipping:
Due to the recent inflation and subsequent increases in actual USPS shipping costs, Buyer pays $34.99 for properly packed double boxed priority shipping with tracking. Shipping of such a high value, large package with significant weigh is costly and labor intensive and will likely be more that what is being charged here. Regardless, the cost to you will be capped at $34.99. No International Shipping on this item. Bidders with low feedback or new accounts should contact us prior to bidding on this item. Seller reserves the right to cancel bids at any time. Due to the exceptional cost and labor involved in shipping this item, this is being sold "AS IS" and there are No Returns on this purchase. Please review all photos and descriptions and please contact with questions prior to bidding. This item has been through a laborious process from the 2nd state to what you see here, and as such, the grading is unique on this item. This cannot be graded like a comic book or a baseball card due to the fact that this jacket has twice been altered from its original state, once by the paste over process at the Capitol Factory and likewise by the peeling process. Any minor imperfections are from either process. The photos speak for themselves and we do our best to accurately grade these historic artifacts. Thank You and Happy Bidding !
