If you've been looking for a genuine and authentic 3rd State (peeled) Stereo Butcher Cover with the Removed Truck Slick of that you will be proud to display but don't want to drop $1500 or more, then this might be for you ! These STEREO jackets are at least five times as rare as their mono counterparts but some say 10 times as rare. At any rate, mono was still the more produced designation in 1966 as far as Beatles records go. Please view the photos and specific condition description and compare with other peels on the web in this price range. See last photo for jacket prior to peel. 
Unlike most offerings on the net (see details below in the condition section), these nicely peeled STEREO jackets are much harder to come by in such displayable condition. 
Although it is sad each week to see more and more recently poorly peeled covers go up for sale, the good news is that jackets such as this that present well with a framable Trunk Slick are only increasing in value as more and more get destroyed each week by amateur peel attempts.

Condition:  Front of Jacket:
Front Peeled Butcher Slick presents nicely from a professional peeling process. Capitol factory glue lines from the trunk slick adhesive process are light and don't interfere or overpower the overall look of this peel. There is a small abrasion/touched up spot on the very bottom of the Butcher Slick near the bottom of Paul's black pant leg (see close up photo) that appears to be some sort of wear spot or perhaps where a former owner took a peek under the trunk slick. Also there is a slight crease in the top right hand corner that corresponds with a light crease also seen on the 2nd state trunk cover (see last two photos of close up of that corner and 2nd state before peel) and a small abrasion near the edge that appears to have been touched up (possibly an edge lift that was peeked at by a prior owner). Other than these minor issues, this example offers a very nice presentation overall and blows away the typical peels seen in the $500 range and up.  
Overall a nice example of this rarer Scranton Pa. STEREO Butcher Cover.

Seams:  Top seam has 2 & 3/4 " of splitting that appears to have been repaired and touched up by a previous owner. Bottom seam like above has about 6" of repaired split in the center of the seam. To protect the integrity of the seams and avoid future damage, a record should never be placed or stored in this jacket. This album jacket is nearly 60 years old and should be protected accordingly (See Seam photos).
Spine:  Spine is mostly complete with all printing legible with only a very small chip of paper missing in the very middle of the spine. (See Spine photos).
Back Of Jacket:   The back of the jackets clean with no major stains or writing. (See photo of back)
Trunk Slick:  Removed trunk slick is included in framable condition as shown with some wrinkling, wear, tear and repair from the peeling process. 
Record/Inner Sleeve:  Sorry but there is NO RECORD or INNER SLEEVE included in this auction. Auction is for Butcher Cover and Removed Trunk Slick only.

This item has been through a laborious process from the 2nd state to what you see here, and as such, the grading is unique on this item.This cannot be graded like a comic book or a baseball card due to the fact that this jacket has twice been altered from its original state, once by the paste over process at the Capitol Factory and likewise by the peeling process. Any minor imperfections are from either process. The photos speak for themselves and we do our best to accurately grade these historic artifacts.
