Description
Up for bidding is an extremely rare 1965 UK pressing of Beatles For Sale, with the “I’m a Losser” label misprint on side one (misprint for song number 2, “I’m a Loser”).
Beatles collectors will know this is one of the rarest Beatles label misprints and extremely hard to find. Do not underestimate how rare this misprint is, you may never have this opportunity again.
This is an original UK 1965 stereo pressing, with a yellow & black label, “The Gramophone Company” text, “Sold in the UK” text. Cat. No. PCS 3062. Matrix numbers: YEX 142-1 & YEX 143-1. Stampers: 4/RA & 1 (with a 7 below it)/OM.
The main point of interest and value of this copy is the LOSSER misprint; this is extremely rare.
The labels are properly rated in good (+) condition; nice, crisp labels with only a few faint spindle marks, and on each side near the Parlophone logo’s are small & faint but noticeable smudge marks, with a name written but barely visible within the smudge areas.
The Emitex inner sleeve is in good condition, no splits or damage.
The vinyl is properly rated at good (+) to very good, with no nasty marks and a good shiny appearance on the vinyl, with light marks on both sides. The record plays pretty well and is properly rated at good (+). There are no skips or anything really nasty; however it does have light to moderate crackling and a few moderate pops and clicks throughout. The sound quality itself, aside from the crackling etc. is actually pretty strong and very listenable.
The cover is rated at good (+). There is no spine wear, no edge wear, very minor corner wear, creasing on the corners and near the spine, and some light grubbiness on the inside of the cover on the white flipbacks. There are no splits or markings and the cover is in presentable condition.
This LP was sourced in the UK by a reputable and well-established UK dealer about 5 years ago when I acquired my UK Beatles collection. I picked up a number of Beatles rarities, and this is one of them. I am now selling off my prized collection of UK 1st press Beatles albums.
