Rarely Seen for sale anywhere on the globe Super Ultra Mega Rare Capitol Compact 33 SPRO-2905/06 Promotional 7" EP

This Capitol Souvenir Record (Capitol SPRO-2905/06) was issued in 1965 to celebrate the grand opening of Capitol Records 3rd U.S. pressing plant in Jacksonville Illinois. It was made in the most limited of issues and was never ever offered for sale to the public !!

This amazing Capitol Compact 33 Souvenir Record plays at 33 1/3 speed and features the top 15 Capitol artists, including the Beatles, Beach Boys, Frank Sinatra, plus many others. It was given to executives of Capitol as a free gift during tours of the new facility. It is unknown how many were actually pressed. The back of the sleeve features statements from 3 Capitol Record executives, including Alan Livingston the president of Capitol Records and the person who signed the Beatles to the label. If you own Bruce Spizer's brilliant book, The Beatles' Story on Capitol Records: Part Two (2000) ,you will find a stunning picture of the exact sleeve and record on pages 231 and 232 along with a brief description of the history of this rarity. Sought after by many collectors, including Beach Boys and Sinatra collectors, this record is most famous and highly sought after by most collectors across the globe because of the inclusion of the Beatles I Want To Hold Your Hand. This record & sleeve are also featured in Perry Cox's indispensable price guide, The Beatles Memorabilia & Record Price Guide (1999) on page 111 valued at $1300 !!

This super rare sleeve is still very vibrant and fully intact with NO seam splits, NO rips, NO tears, NO tape and NO price stickers. Very minor writing on top.
As expected, some ring wear but stunningly clean compared to the others I've seen, over the years. Very rare to find one this nice and it's 53 years !!

The vinyl shows very little play. That's very unusual for these rare promo Capitol Compact 33 EPs. The labels are stunningly spectacular and MINT with NO writing and NO stickers !!! Pristine in every way !!
