CASUALTIES, THE BEATLES
(CAPITOL LP SPRO-9469, 1980/81, mono/stereo; promo copy)
An ill-fated followup to Capitol's well-received RARITIES collection of 1980, this project never made it past the promotional copy stage. Includes several first-time true stereo mixes, plus the "correct" version of their 2nd 45, "Please Please Me."
Side 1 contains these tracks: Please Please Me – ‘correct’ lyrics sung by John ; I Want To Hold Your Hand – true stereo; Money – mono; A Hard Day’s Night – true stereo; I’ll Cry Instead – full version true stereo; Ticket To Ride – true stereo; Yet It Is – mono; Day Tripper – UK/Japan release stereo version; I’m Only Sleeping – Alternate mono released only in France
Side 2's tracks: Strawberry Fields Forever – Alternate Stereo; I Am The Walrus – backing tracks only (just the four Beatles); Only A Northern Song – true mono; Revolution – mono single version (much ‘dirtier’ than the stereo); Her Majesty – complete with missing note; Let It Be – mono mix released in Japan
Overall condition of LP (jacket/vinyl): Jacket is clean, with visible rubwear to front of jacket. Slightly dinged corners; minor rubwear to lower area back cover. Call it VG++.
Vinyl: Disc appears to have been played once or twice, but has been handled with care. Black label Capitol promo copy, marked NOT FOR SALE. The vinyl is FINE/VERY FINE.
