BEATLES EP 1964 BEATLES FOR SALE No 2 MONO PARL GEP 8938 1st press
On offer is a – FIRST PRESS - BEATLES 45rpm EP entitled BEATLES FOR SALE No 2 as released in MONO on PARLOPHONE GEP 8938 in 1964.
This LOVELY CONDITION 1964 first pressing DISC correctly has - 1. Capitalized PARLOPHONE disc rims. 2. "(P)1964" statement on the labels. 3. "SOLD IN U.K SUBJECT" statement on the label centres. 4. The embossed tax code letters are K - T. 5. Matrix numbers are: 7TCE 874 - 1 and 7TCE 874 – 1: a first press disc – correctly suffixed with "1" on both matrices.
The picture sleeve cover is also a LOVELY CONDITION 1st. Press. Identified as such by: 1. "THE PARLOPHONE CO. LTD." printed below the Parlophone logo at the upper left of the front cover. 2. On the back cover: "TRADE MARK OF THE PARLOPHONE Co., Ltd." is printed at the bottom of the back cover. 3. The printer’s name is not printed at the bottom of the back cover. 4. Wrap-around cover with a die-cut insert tab cut at the side of sleeve.5. Round-cut corner.
Tracks are: I’ll follow the sun / Baby’s in black / Words of love / I don’t want to spoil the party.
The sleeve is in nice EX- condition: with no seam splits. It has a bit of ring wear on the back cover: and a name is written in very small letters in the top left-hand corner of the back cover. See scans.
The vinyl is in SUPERB EX+/ EX condition with a lovely sheen.
The record labels are nice and clean, with no writing on them.
The record played with a lovely full sound when I test played it on my BOSE record player.

EXCELLENT (EX) THE RECORD SHOWS SOME SIGNS OF HAVING BEEN PLAYED, BUT THERE IS VERY LITTLE LESSENING IN SOUND QUALITY. THE COVER AND PACKAGING MIGHT HAVE SLIGHT WEAR AND/OR CREASING.
VERY GOOD (VG) THE RECORD HAS OBVIOUSLY BEEN PLAYED MANY TIMES, BUT DISPLAYS NO MAJOR DETERIORATION IN SOUND QUALITY, DESPITE NOTICEABLE SURFACE MARKS AND THE OCCASIONAL LIGHT SCRATCH. NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ON THE COVER OR EXTRA ITEMS, WITHOUT ANY MAJOR DEFECTS, IS ACCEPTABLE.
GOOD (G) THE RECORD HAS BEEN PLAYED SO MUCH THAT THE SOUND QUALITY HAS NOTICEABLY DETERIORATED, PERHAPS WITH SOME DISTORTION AND MILD SCRATCHES. THE COVER AND CONTENTS SUFFER FROM FOLDING, SCUFFING OF EDGES, SPINE SPLITS, DISCOLOURATION, ETC.
THE USE OF PLUS (+) OR MINUS (-) ALLOWS FOR ITEMS THAT FALL BETWEEN THE ABOVE GRADES.
