The BEATLES

PLEASE PLEASE ME

5th PRESS STEREO!
UK LP
(Patents Pending Sleeve too!)

This was the very first official release, being released on the 22nd of March 1963 (MONO version) and later on the 26th of April 1963 (STEREO version). The Lp reached number one in; Disc Weekly, Melody Maker,  New Musical Express and The Record Retailer in the UK. Only to be knocked off by their next album With The Beatles.

Amazingly the songs, which were taken from their first two singles and included a further ten songs, were all recorded in one marathon session at Abbey Road Studios. John wasn't feeling too well and got throught the 3 sessions in the one day by having milk, tea and Zubes lozenges....

This pressing is the rarer 5th pressing from 1964, with the same lay-out as the 4th press, but this time having the "Sold in UK..." text. These variants didn't last long as they were quickly changed by Parlophone.

1/1 MOTHERS!!!
*lovely and early-one of the VERY FIRST pressings here*

Vinyl: EX. Gorgeous, heavy vinyl...Still has it's sheen. Just a few light marks. The most noticable one is a really rather light needle mark on side 2, covering the last six tracks-However, after playing over the affected area I didn't find any lessening in enjoyment, just ever so light background noise inbetween songs when played up loud! The Beatles in all their original glory.
A professional clean and you've got yourself a BEAUTIFUL piece!
Really quiet run-ins.

FLAT, HEAVY AND SHINY-ORIGINAL!

Labels: EX+. There is only a very small amount of central hole wear as seen in the pictures. There are quite a few LIGHT spindle marks, visible only when angled towards the light. Other than that the labels stand out nice and clean, with no writing or rips.
'KT' tax code to side 1.
Outer rim text starts with "The Parlophone Co.Ltd" "Recording First Published 1963" stated under the printed matrix number.
VERY DISPLAYABLE

Inner: EX. Original "Use Emitex" inner....Light creasing-THAT REALLY IS IT! without any splits to any of the seams. She is original and in tip top shape. Certainly has done her job keeping the record in simply fab condition!
NO WRITING, RIPS OR TEARS!

Cover: VG+. Glorious front image without fading.
MID-SIZE "Stereo" to the top right corner.
Only a few  spidering points near the opening-certainly nothing to detract from it's beauty.
Corners only have VERY light dings.
Made of strong card
"PATENTS PENDING"
Strong Garrod & Lofthouse flipbacks, with the Angus McBean in the lower right corner on the front.
Very strong and clear spine.
NO WRITING

Please see the detailed photo's:

I would recommend getting this lovely example for it's vinyl, and it's rareity of the 5th press STEREO!...You don't see these come up for auction very often and certainly not in this wonderful condition.
