THE BEATLES LP BEATLES FOR SALE (Parlophone Records PMC 1240). Released 1964.
Original UK mono pressing on the yellow & black Parlophone label. Constructed of quality materials throughout, including a nice thick piece of vinyl. Good heavy mass. Platter surface looks quite nice with a few faint hairline flecks. Deep, rich warm color on the exemplary cover photgraphs. These 14 songs close with the Carl Perkins cut, "Everybody's Trying to Be My Baby."Produced by George Martin; liner notes by Derek Taylor. "...-3N/-4N" is stamped in the dead wax to show this is an early pressing. (Stamped Matrix #: XEX 504-3N/4N R3X/RNP ").
COVER - VERY GOOD
Cover is free of stains, writing, water damage, tape, cut-out marks, stickers, writing & color fading. Hardly any ring wear with no rubbing or speckles. Beginnings of an inch & a half tear on the spine, but the spine print is all readable. Some frayed corner banging & some three-inch lines of cracking on the cover finish which does not pierce the paper. These are not scratches in the cover, just surface marks on the brittle finish. The inside gatefold looks very very good with no stains, blurriness or color fading. Label is in nice shape, with no scratches, tears, writing, stickers, fading or cuts. Label paper is all intact & unbroken. Sharp print, rich color on label. Around the spindle hole is a noticeable degree of faint transparent spindle scuffs.
DISC - VERY GOOD PLUS PLUS
We give great importance to grading our items accurately. No skips, stains, streaking, shiver scrapes, warping, cloud shadows or residue on the disc or dead wax. A few very short scuffs or semi-flecks on a platter surface that looks pretty nice overall. Play grading presents what I find to be a tolerable level of background surface noise which remains at a constant low volume free of loud ticks & pops.
