Description

Up for auction is a copy of Beatles For Sale, released in 1964 on Parlophone, cat no PCS 3062, a stereo pressing. Original stereo copies of this album are much harder to find than mono pressings. This copy would seem to date from 1965-68, as the rim text begins with “The Gramophone Co Ltd”. Matrix details: YEX 142 – 1 (2 is overstamped) 16 GM, YEX 143 – 1 17 OM. KT tax code.

Condition: vinyl has a few surface marks, nothing feelable or seriously affecting play (a few click & pops, but no jumps/sticks). Labels are problem-free. Very fragile cover has some laminate creases, a couple of inches of split on the upper edge of the spine, and a 3 inch split on the rear. Some “magic” tape has been applied to some of the spine to prevent further damage, though this should be removable if you’d prefer. Not great but this is a very difficult cover to find in anything approaching EX condition. VG/G+.

My grades: I use a 10-point scale: M-; EX; VG+; VG; VG-; G+; G; G-; F (fair); P (poor). I never use mint as a grade for used records. I am a long-time (25+ years!) record collector, and play-grade where possible. I don’t use stock photos: the item in pictured here is the item for sale.
