Description

On offer here is a very rare UK original 1964 STEREO 1st pressing of the ‘Beatles For Sale’ LP by THE BEATLES on the yellow & black Parlophone label with the ‘Sold In UK’ text!! This copy comes in the correct gatefold laminated flipback sleeve.

The matrix numbers are Side 1 – YEX 142-1 & Side 2 – YEX 143-1. Catalogue number is PCS 3062. Mothers & stampers are: Side 1 – MT 2 & Side 2 – L 4.

The record is very strictly graded in nice VG/VG+ condition, there are light hairline marks on both sides but this is still a nice shiny copy and as usual with these original thick vinyl 60’s pressings it plays through really well though with no sticks or jumps and it is 100% flat with no dishing or warping. It would be graded much higher were it not for a scratch that goes across the first 3 tracks of Side 2.  This causes some light clicking only.

The original gatefold cover is also very strictly graded in VG-/G++ condition, it has general wear & creasing and the corner damage/wear that these fairly flimsy covers are prone to.  Again it would be graded higher except at some point the front cover seems to have become stuck to the back of a copy of the ‘Sgt Pepper’ LP!!  This has left unusual markings on the front cover (see photo) which could probably be removed if cleaned properly but I have not attempted to do this. The labels are nice with no tears, marks, writing etc and with the KT tax code on Side 1 plus some light spindle wear. Comes with original Emitex inner sleeve in very nice condition.

A very acceptable copy of a classic Beatles rarity!!!!!!!!!
