More info about the “Girl” promo 45

In November 1977, Capitol Records scheduled the release of “Girl” backed with “You’re Gonna Lose That Girl” as a single (Capitol 4506) to accompany the release of Love Songs, a compilation album which contained both songs. However, the single was cancelled before it was issued.

The promotional 45 issued in October 1977, is one of only a small quantity of promotional copies that ever turned up, here is a rare opportunity to own one . . .

* Beatles mix alert – As the Love Songs LP was only issued in stereo the A side’s mono version can only be found on this promo 45. The same holds true for the mono versions of:

Helter Skelter &Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da – Released on 1976 stereo only version of White Album

Got to Get You into My Life – Released on 1976 stereo only version of Rock ‘N’ Roll

Sgt. Pepper’s LonelyHeart Club Band / With A Little Help from My Friends – Released on 1978 stereo only version of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band Picture Disc LP.

This is a near mint promo copy of the Beatles “Girl” on Capitol P-4506. Includes record and picture sleeve both in nm condition. Since I owned the record I only played it once. This is the original black vinyl disc as there were counterfeits made in various vinyl colors. . . this is the real thing. The 45 and sleeve were manufactured 10-77 but never commercially issued.
