Description
The Beatles - "From Then To You" - The Beatles Christmas Record, 1970. Apple/Lyntone LYN 2153/2154.
This staggeringly rare LP was issued in late 1970 by the UK Beatles Official Fan Club, and comprises all of their 7 flexi-disc recordings from the years 1963 to 1969.
SIDE ONE: 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966
SIDE TWO: 1967, 1968, 1969
This is the only copy I have ever seen, but this album has been known to fetch £300+! There is, of course the very common US version that has been bootlegged, but this is the BONA FIDE ORIGINAL UK pressing, on the DARK GREEN Apple label!, with MACHINE PRESSED MATRIX NUMBERS LYN2153 and LYN2154 in the run out groove. The Apple labels are on the right way round, according to content (e.g. side one "whole apple" plays side one) but the numbers are reversed! Side one on the label is given as LYN2513, but on the disc it has LYN2154 and vice-versa. Record Collector states that some copies of this album have reversed labels, so this is obviously how the confusion arose.
The vinyl itself is typical late sixties/early seventies thick, heavy quality - similar to albums released by companies like Island or Polydor.
The cover is printed and made by West Brothers printers, and is front laminated. The front shows the cover of the first flexi from 1963, and then on the back in black and white are the other 6.
CONDITION:
The LP itself has some scratches and a few scuff marks, but on the whole is fine, and plays through very nicely, albeit with a little surface noise here and there. I have played it all the way through on my Gemini turntable, and it doesn't stick or jump.
The cover has some creasing to the laminate around the edges, and a little staining to the rear sleeve, but is otherwise all intact, and looks great!
PLEASE REMEMBER - this LP does not come up for auction very often, so now is your chance to complete your Beatles LP collection with quite possibly one of the most scarce Apple LP ever pressed!
