FROM THE WEB: "Recorded Jan/Feb 1969 at Twickenham film studios and later Apple studios, these recordings represent the recordings and rehearsals of the Beatles in preparation for their forthcoming album Get Back (as it was then). The first 10 LP's contain the original nagra 2-track engineers recordings, called 'sync-tracks', they were used by the film crew to make work prints and to catalogue the different songs. There are over 120 tracks, too many to list - there are various versions of the Get Back/Let It Be album tracks plus new songs which the Beatles were working on at the time but were never used, there are also many old standards, a few renditions of old hits and many early versions of tracks which would later appear on the Abbey Road album. The Beatles were captured not just recording and rehearsing these songs, but jamming, tuning, chatting, arguing - and of course breaking up.

The bonus album 11 is the original Glyn Johns mix of the intended 'Get Back' album with the original track running order! A 15 IPS half track true stereo recording, two generations removed from the original 1969 Apple Records Safety Master, cut at half speed on a Neuman 6600 series helium lathe.

The 15 tracks are as follows: Side1 - One After 909: Instrumental: Save The Last Dance For Me: Don't Let Me Down: I Dig A pony: I've Got A Feeling: Get Back: Side2 - For You Blue: Teddy Boy: On Your Way Home: Maggie Mae: Can You Dig It!: Let It Be: The Long & Winding Road: Get Back (Reprise).

Sixteen months after these recordings and with Phil Spectors help, the album Let It Be was released. The sleeve notes said 'This is a new phase Beatles album'....... and finished by saying, 'in comes the warmth and freshness of a live peformance'. Both these statements could never apply to the radically altered Let It Be, but were infact describing these recordings for the Get Back album. This was the original intended mix as produced by Glyn Johns and is substantially different to both Let It Be (Phil Spector version) and Let It Be Naked.
