Description
A lovely and complete example of the rare original,1968, jewel-cased, UK reel to reel 3 & 3/4 ips mono tape release of "Help !" by The Beatles complete with two- page "Emitape" leaflet, the warranty slip, and the original green and gold Parlophone logo sticker to the spool. Cat No TA-PMC- 1255.
This is one that escaped quality control at the EMI factory at Hayes. You will see the image on the front inlay is a "ghost" image of the four Beatles - an obvious print fault. (Your eyes are NOT deceiving you, and neither is it a blurry photograph). Compare it with the card-cased reel to reel copy of "Help !" I have for sale under my other items. Beatles vinyl LP misprints were rare enough, but to find a misprint on a reel to reel (which, in themselves are much rarer that the vinyl LPs) is particularly unusual. A rare one indeed!
Clean, no cracks/splits or missing pieces to case, white and red printed leader tapes, no pen markings/writing. A rare purchase in the 1960s in comparison to the vinyl LP, usually by audiophiles wanting top quality sound. Please see all photographs.

Even the small green and gold, circular Parlophone logo sticker remains to the original "Emitape" spool.
Oddly enough these 1968 jewel-cased Beatles reel to reel tapes are even more collectable than the card-cased releases, perhaps because they were produced in much lower numbers, and at a time when the future looked commercially uncertain, with the pending introduction of the new cassette format, for the 1970s.
Played throughout both sides and tested - perfect. Clear and vibrant sound. Emitape leaflet and packing slip like new. (Either, or both are usually missing) Rare in this condition.
Note: Monos are the most versatile of the two (mono and stereo) tape formats as it can be played on both mono twin track and stereo four track machines. Stereo four track tapes can not be played on mono two track machines, Additionally, many audiophiles will attest to the (arguably) more intimate, warm and full sound that mono has compared to stereo.
