From our personal collection comes this gorgeous Ultra Rare Beatles collectors double album set appropriately entitled, "Rarer Than Rare," and issued as a limited edition by the great Japanese label, White Knight Records (catalog no. WR271) back in the 1980s. This great two-LP set contains more than 30 rare Beatles tracks as well as assorted solo demos,outs,altversions etc. by the Fab Four (John, Paul, George, and Ringo) in varying soundquality but all together now in one nice package. You can check any number of Interweb sources for complete tracklistings and recordingdata, but suffice it to say there is some very hard-to-find recordings, radio spots, and cool historical audio here. Rarer Than Rare is right! The fully printed, and sturdy, thick cover (outstanding and typical for Japanese pressings) is silver, blue, and red and in Excellent stunning condition with no rips, tears, scuffs, writing. Strong, clean spine. Back cover is terrific, with perhaps the faintest hint of beginning ringwear on the back (after 30 or so years, you might show some age too!).
The discs are VG++/Excellent condition with nice black gloss, no marks, dings, scratches, etc...and mere minimal wear. The green labels are in VG nice condition, with the song titles on each side neatly handwritten by a previous owner in pen. This copy has been carefully stored in plastic sleeve in a non-smoking home in our audio archives for nearly two decades. Overall, a really nice example of this hard-to-find Beatle collectible, and a very nice addition for Beatles completists and hardcore fans. As with the nature of these historical documents, sound quality varies from not-so-great-tovery good and is subjective to each listener, so your best bet is to consult your fave Beatles discography sources and make up your own mind! For fans of great labels and titles like TMQ, Swingin' Pig, Yellow Dog, TAKRL, K&S, Amazing Kornyphone, Yellow Matter Custard, the Get Back Journals, Wonderland, Dr. Ebett's needle drops etc.. We need to thin the herd to pay some bills, and hope this beauty finds a good home! As longtime collectors we only sell what we would -- and did! -- buy, so bid with confidence!
