BEATLES John and Yoko Happy Xmas 12” PROMO White Vinyl Capitol FACES LABEL NM!

Limited to a release of only 2500 copies worldwide, this 12” white vinyl record seems not to have been a numbered pressing, like the other release.  Very tough to find.

Vinyl---issued in a heavy plastic sleeve which was in direct contact with the soft white vinyl, these discs were prone to imprint on the vinyl from the heavy plastic.  This copy does show moderate plastic transfer into the white vinyl.  Upon receipt of this copy, I transferred the vinyl into a generic paper sleeve to prevent further transference.  Of the transference that did occur, side 1 is 90% contained within the dead wax trail-off groove.  There was a small area of grooves that were affected.  Side 2 has more of the damage, and a good portion of it is in the grooves.  I play-tested the disc, and can tell you that it does translate into what plays back as a moderately scratchy-sounding playback.  It is also extremely hard to photograph the damage, because of the white vinyl.  It is very like trying to photograph something that is white on white.  I tried to brighten what the camera did capture, but then you brighten the damage as well.  The images in the photos therefore, are examples of what the damage looks like, rather than showing the extent of it.  This is still a nice-looking piece of vinyl.  But like many of us at Xmas, it has issues.

Labels---beautiful NM.

Sleeve---generic white sleeve.

Plastic Cover---in great condition, no splits.  A little dusty, maybe.

Sticker---very nice-looking sticker, no damage.  However, three of the four corners are unglued, but a good 90% of the sticker is still affixed firmly.

(Please note that due to time constraints, I have had to stop play-testing my vinyl.  However, I am happy to by request.  As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)
