Description
ARTIST: The Beatles / Lee Alan
?TITLE: Lee Alan presents A Trip to Miami
LABEL: ?LAP-1
MONO/STEREO: Mono
GRADE (RECORD): NEAR MINT – unplayed, no marks
NOTES: From the mouth of Fab 4 Collectables, “ONE OF THE RAREST BEATLES RECORDS IN EXISTENCE.”
One of the harder interview recordings to find. It was a “Free Item for Private Use Only,” sometimes mailed out from the radio station WKYZ in Detroit where Alan worked and also sold together with a printed story/transcript (not included).
This is one of the earliest (possibly the first) radio interviews the Beatles gave on their first tour of the States. Turns up very rarely on eBay, only 6 copies in as many years listed on popsike.com
More from Fab 4: “LEE ASKS THE BEATLES WHEN THEY FIRST HEARD ABOUT THE "STAMP OUT THE BEATLES" CAMPAIGN THAT ORIGINATED IN DETROIT. PAUL REPLIES AT THE KENNEDY AIRPORT PRESS CONFERENCE, GEORGE THINKS IT WAS IN A CASH BOX ARTICLE, AND JOHN JOKES AT SCHOOL WHEN HE WAS SEVEN YEARS OLD. AFTER EXPRESSING THEIR ADMIRATION FOR MOTOWN ARTISTS, THE GROUP THANKS THEIR FANS AND ED SULLIVAN AND SAYS THE GROUP WILL PROBABLY RETURN TO THE U.S. IN SEPTEMBER.”
GRADING: As a record collector of 15 years and former record store employee, I am a very conservative, experienced grader. I use NM, VG++, VG+, VG, VG-, and G for grading.

All records are sent in a cardboard mailer to avoid damage.
