Description
This is a rare package. It's a UK stereo pressing entitled 'Let It Be' by The Beatles. It was released in 1970. It is pressed on the Apple label (catalogue no. PCS 7096). The songs are classics and are all famous. The package includes the legendary 'Get Back' 160 page paperback book whih is extremely rare and the rear of the record sleeve features the red 'Apple' logo. There is no box. This album is a must for all serious collectors of Beatles and great rock music.
OUTER SLEEVE - The laminated sleeve is in fine condition with some minor wear and creasing on the front and back. The top and bottom edges show some minor wear and are in overall fine condition. Each corner of the sleeve is slightly worn. The spine shows minor wear and the wording along the spine is 100% readable.. It states on the rear of the sleeve - 'Thanks to George Martin/Glyn Johns/Billy Preston/mal Davies/Peter Brown/Richard Hewson/Brian Rogers - Design by John Kosh - Photographs by Ethan Russell - An EMI Recording - Printed and made in Great Britain by Garod and Lofthouse Ltd. - Apple Records'. The rear of the cover featues the red 'Apple' logo at the centre bottom. I've graded the sleeve VG++.
INNER SLEEVE - This is a plain white paper type.
GET BACK BOOK - This is complete, as far as I know with 160 pages including text and colour photos (Photographs by Ethan A Russell - Text by Jonathan Cott and David Dalton). However, since it has been lying in my attic for a number of years there is a definite 'musty' odour to it. In addition, most of the pages are loose but the winner of this auction could take the book to a professional bookbinder who could repair the book and fix the pages back in place inside the outer cover. The condition of the pages of the book, apart from the points highlighted, is superb with almost no wear or damage. I have graded it VG+ only because of the fact that there are loose pages.
RECORD - This stereo record is in fine condition. There are some surface marks on both sides and these result in audible surface noise throughout especially between tracks. There are definitely no jumps or skips on either side. The labels which are the traditional Apple type are in fine condition althouh there is some minor blue fibre tip writing on the label on sie one. There are some minor spindle marks on both labels. The matrix numbers (YEX 773 and YEX 774) are printed underneath the catalogue numbers of the labels on sides one and two respectively. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - YEX 773 - 2U (stampers - 1 GAR) - side two - YEX 774 - 3U (stampers - 24 GPO). I have graded the record as VG+ and believe that this is very fair.
I try to grade all my items as accurately and conservatively as possible and I will provide a full refund to any winner of my auctions who is not 100% satisfied. Please see my feedback for any references required.
