Beatles “Let It Be” Vinyl 1970 Record, Gatefold Cover With Original 22 x 22” Poster, AR 34001 RARE Red Apple Label
Let It Be was released in 1970 in tandem with the motion picture of the same name. Sadly, the Beatles had already broken up by that time, and the movie that was intended to show the making of an album, instead showed "the break-up of a band." At one point George quit and promptly drove to his home where he documented his frustrations in a new composition, "Wah-Wah," later returning after certain concessions were agreed to. To provide a live concert for the ending of the film, the Beatles and Billy Preston performed on the rooftop of Apple studios but they were cut short by the police. The complete concert has circulated among bootleg collectors for many years. VISUAL GRADING: VINYL, Excellent, Rare Red Apple Label, Single slight abrasion on Side 1, Minor spindle wear; COVER, Very Good, Gatefold w/some Edge Wear & Ring Wear; POSTER, Original Exact Replica of album cover, 22 x 22” has a crease on one corner and slight color wear on folds; can be easily fixed after dry mount.
The Beatles won the Academy Award for the Best Original Song Score in 1970, but when the album was re-released in 2003, McCartney announced a new version that was closer to what he had originally intended and called it “Let It Be... Naked.”
