Description

This auction is for the rare 8 LP JAPANESE IMPORT BOX SET entitled
" From Liverpool.  The Beatles Box "
This incredible Eight 33 1/3 RPM LP box set on the Odeon / EMI Label (Catalog #EAS-77011-18)  is in gorgeous, just about mint condition and is the original Japanese import on virgin vinyl.  This is an anthology of the music of The Beatles with each LP packaged in a separate cardboard sleeve each bearing a different full color photograph of The Beatles. The LP's are all in the original plastic inner sleeves. The LP's are packaged in a beautifully designed hinged clamshell design thick cardboard box which opens from the front edge to reveal the two original accompanying books. One containing the lyrics in both English and Japanese and the eight LP's and the other with the track listing and description in Japanese.  The LP's, the sleeves and the records are in mint condition.  The box has a trace of wear which you would have to use a magnifier to find but otherwise is mint. No breaks or separations. The real prize with this set which separates it from other offered copies of the set is that this one still has the very rare Japanese edition OBI strip which is more like an OBI cap since it fits over the side of the box rather than the usual wrap around design. The fragile OBI has one tiny closed tear on one corner and also has a partial separation at the seam (NOT a tear) which can easily be repaired with a drop of light glue but is otherwise near mint. I am adding a photo of just the OBI due to the fact that I do not wish to remove it from the packaging it is in and to avoid damaging it. The reflections are from the fitted plastic bag that the set comes in. The set is not shrinkwrapped.
