The BEATLES official Capitol Double LP of the Best of the Beatles “LOVE SONGS”. This was originally released in 1977, 25 hits, a great compilation of Beatle Ballads. This LP when first issued had gold embossed front and back cover, and a great 26 page lyrics booklet included,

special edition sleeves, and great Richard Avedon photos on the inside of the gatefold sleeve!! This is a REISSUE 1988 pressing NOT EMBOSSED (just goldish print), NO BOOKLET (presumed), but is Goldmine NM (SEALED), and it’s in STEREO. This one was pressed on Black vinyl. This one is of course produced by George Martin. Fantastic!! As always!! Another great iconic cover on a record album. An oval Gold Richard Avedon image of the Boys printed on a Brown leather-like cover. NOTE: This LP is SEALED since 1988 ( though there is tape holding some loose shrink wrap together. None stuck to the album cover!! Presumed Wonderful contents inside, who knows?? The Classic ballads here are: Yesterday, In my life, Here there and everywhere, This boy, I will, Something, If I fell, She’s leaving home, and my favorite: For no one!! Of course every song is a classic, even today, over 50 years later. This is a great conglomeration of songs from nearly every Beatles LP, showing the depth of their history and material! EMI aimed at getting this LP to market following the huge success of the prior years hot double LP compilation: THE BEATLES ROCK N ROLL MUSIC. On this double LP 23 songs are originals by Lennon-McCartney, plus Something by Harrison, and Buddy Holly’s Words of Love. They all still sound so fresh, with Incredible energy from the Boys as they attack your ears with superb melodies and harmonies! No one mastered the recording studio better than Martin and the Beatles! This is a beautiful record set and cover, quite wonderful looking and sounding. Finally we get our money’s worth! The cover sleeve is well kept, in plastic cover since its purchase in 1988 by me. I quickly learned to handle them as little as possible, especially one of these “new” issues which I thought would become rarer and greatly treasured!!
