THE BEATLES - "GET BACK" ("LET IT BE") - PLAIN BLACK LABEL, NO RECORD #

THIS IS WHAT APPEARS TO BE A TEST PRESSING OF WHAT WOULD BECOME "LET IT BE", ORIGINALLY TO BE CALLED "GET BACK" - THIS WAS A PROJECT THAT BEGAN IN JAN. 1969, BUT DUE TO TURMOIL AMONGST THE GROUP MEMBERS, THE "GET BACK" ALBUM PROJECT WAS SHELVED IN FAVOR OF THE "ABBEY ROAD" PROJECT IN APRIL 1969.  GLYN JOHNS, ENGINEER AND UNCREDITED PRODUCER FROM THE "GET BACK" SESSIONS, ASSEMBLED AN ALBUM OF MATERIAL FROM THE "GET BACK" SESSIONS WHICH RESULTED IN SOME RADIO STATIONS GETTING "PROMOTIONAL COPIES" AROUND MID 1969 (well, that's what I read online)

AS YOU CAN HEAR IN THESE TRACKS, THESE RECORDINGS ARE MORE RAW AND SOUND MORE LIKE REHEARSAL TAPES, UNLIKE THE RELEASED VERSIONS MIXED BY PHIL SPECTOR, BUT INCLUDED ARE CUTS NOT ISSUED ON ANY BEATLES ALBUMS OR 45s....THE 4 MIN. VERSION OF "DIG IT" IS VERY COOL! - 13 CUTS INCLUDE:

GET BACK - WHEN YOU WALK - LET IT BE - ONE AFTER 909 - TEDDY BOY - ON OUR WAY HOME - DON'T LET ME DOWN - I GOT A FEELING - THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD - DIG IT UP - SWEET AND LOVELY GIRL - DIG A PONY - GET BACK (REF.)

THIS RECORD HAS SOLID BLACK LABELS ON BOTH SIDES WITH NO PRINT - IN THE  DEADWAX ARE THE NUMBERS "5-1" AND "5-2" - ON THE "5-2" SIDE, HAND WRITTEN ON THE LABEL ARE "2072" AND THE WORDS "GET BACK" - IT COMES IN A SOLID PLAIN WHITE ALBUM SLEEVE WITH THE TRACKS HAND WRITTEN IN PEN ON THE BACK BOTTOM LEFT SIDE, AND AT THE TOP LEFT CORNER WHAT LOOKS LIKE THE NUMBERS "2072" - THE LETTERS "GB" ARE ON THE FRONT TOP LEFT CORNER

RECORD PLAYS BEAUTIFUL, HAS A FEW LIGHT INAUDIBLE MARKS, BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE THERE'S NOISE IN THE PRESSING POSSIBLY FROM THE RECORDINGS BEING TAKEN FROM ACETATE TEST PRESSINGS AS OPPOSED TO MASTER TAPES

THIS IS A VERY RARE ITEM, THE ONLY OTHER COPY I'VE SEEN WAS A COPY THAT SOLD ON EBAY IN AUGUST, 2007 - GOOD LUCK BIDDING AND THANKS FOR LOOKING!

Grading is as follows:

I will never advertise something as Mint unless it has never been opened. I rarely use NM (near mint) unless it looks like it has never been taken out of the sleeve and played.

VG++; Great copy, any collector would be happy with. Very little to no wear on record, no real scratches, scuffs or marks. Plays almost like new.

VG+; Also a great copy but may have some markings on vinyl or label, may also have some slight noise. A great copy for collector's.

VG; Markings on vinyl or label, background noise.

VG-: Has seen a better day! but still plays with very noticable noise.

G: A demolished record, I will only use this rating if it is something extremely rare, scratches and may possibly have a skip.

All records sold whether new or used are sold as used, as most listed will be out of print for many years.  All records sold (unless sealed) have been played LOUD on a Garrard Type A70 turntable with Empire 888 cartridge and stylli.  Grading varies from one seller to the next as many are stricter in their grading than others.  I believe I represent the records I sell fairly,
