The BEATLES LP. Number 5”. JAPAN. An interesting early compilation of rarer tracks from 1963-1964. It contains about 10 rarely chosen Beatles songs, such as LONG TALL SALLY, YOU REALLY GOT A HOLD ON ME, I CALL YOUR NAME, SIE LIEBT DICH and KOMM GIB MIR DEINE HAND. Both these last 2 songs are the super-rare German language Beatles songs on an album together for the first time, Worldwide. That did not happen again till 1988 PAST MASTERS!! This was titled “NUMBER 5”, apparently as the Fifth LP by the Beatles, released in Japan on Odeon, and the cover was quite similar to the recent USA release of “Beatles ‘65”!! Most songs on this LP are rarities! Of the 14 songs 8 are from Lennon-McCartney! They mostly come from previous Singles and EPs from 1963 thru 1964! And a few from PLEASE PLEASE ME and WITH THE BEATLES, their UK LPs from 1963!! This one is still produced by George Martin. Fantastic!! As always!! And now another of the worlds unique and different Beatles cover on a record album! A beautiful cover! It attracted me to this record immediately!! My dad bought it for me in 1965 while on business in Japan!! It rarely got played, but having Sie liebt dich in the 60s was a treasure!!! The vinyl is graded Goldmine EX, my highest grade for opened items!! It appears lightly played! Fully shiny and no writing! Photos 1-10 are the items for sale, the record, the cover, the lyrics insert, the inner sleeve, all originals. No OBI strip!! See photos 11-12, photos just for fun!! I started collecting worldwide Beatles various albums 55 plus years ago, when I was 12. I took great care of them from the start! I am starting to sell them off. I doubt EMI / Odeon will ever reissue this vinyl LP again, so getting a copy under $100 is a Now or Never proposition!! Additional rarity hits here are: MATCHBOX, CHAINS, SLOW DOWN, SHE’S A WOMAN, And my favorite from this batch, THIS BOY. This LP is an Amazing conglomeration of interesting songs!! Of course every song is a classic, even today, over 55 years later. And 8 songs on this LP were originals written by Lennon McCartney. They all still sound so fresh, with Incredible energy from the Boys as they attack your ears with superb melodies and harmonies! This is a beautiful record, quite wonderful sounding! There was no better sounding vinyl in the world than Japan Odeon Records!!! This LP is well kept and in plastic sleeve since the 70s. I quickly learned to handle them as little as possible, especially one of these Beatles International compilation records which I thought would become rarer and greatly treasured!! This LP has the original Black Odeon Labels, and Black Vinyl, and the 4 page Original Lyrics Sheet ( some writing g of the song titles on one page). Sorry!!
