Description

Up for auction is a very rare original mono version of The Beatles album "Magical Mystery Tour" originally released in the U.S. on Capitol Records (MAL-1-2835) in 1967.
-Guaranteed original U.S. Pressing -Mono pressing -First "Scranton" East Coast pressing Run-out matrices read: MAL-1-2835-F9 MAL-1-2835-G10 -Matrix has Triangle "Scranton" stamp -Original gatefold paste-down cover -Rare "script" version of Booklet -"No, You're Not! said Little Nicola" below "I Am The Walrus" track listing -"BMI" listed after each song title on labels
Condition: The cover is in beautiful condition with only small signs of age.  Front is bright and colorful, no ring wear or rubbing loss, very shiny.  Back is clean, with only a small hint of rub at bottom edge.  Spine is clean, not creased, titles are clean, no losses.  Seams are strong, intact, no splits, no cracks, no flaking.  Corners are sharp, not bumped, just a hint of rub.  Booklet is complete, no missing pages.  Looks like there is a couple of small pieces of transparent tape holding the booklet in place, but nicely done.  Very well-preserved example, minimal aging.  Grade: Near Mint Minus (NM-), nicer than VG+ examples.
The vinyl is also in beautiful condition, still retains its original high gloss shine and luster.  No apparent scratches or scuffs, just a couple of very faint lines from having taken the album out of the paper inner sleeve a few times--cannot be felt, nor do they affect the quality of playback.  Labels are clean, no marks around spindle holes, indicating little, if any, previous play.  Looks like this record has been played once or twice at most.  Very well cared for.  Has been archived in my personal collection un-played for the last 20 years.
Play-Tested: When played in the recommended Mono Mode, the sound quality is excellent, full-bodied mono fidelity.  No issues, music plays clean, no significant distortion.  Grade: Near Mint Minus (NM-).
