Description

This is an ORIGINAL 1977 CAPITOL RECORDS U.S. PURPLE LABEL LP containing the album titled 'Magical Mystery Tour' from The Beatles, originally released in 1967.  It is Capitol Records U.S. catalog number SMAL-2835, purple labels, gatefold cover.  The original 24 page book IS INCLUDED with this LP, it is not attached to the inside of the gatefold cover and does not appear to ever have been attached, as there are no staple holes in the inner spine and no evidence of the book ever having been attached with adhesive.  Record comes packaged inside the cover in a plain white inner sleeve.

Purple label with "Mfd. by Capitol." in the rim text and large Capitol Records logo.

Near the beginning of this run, Capitol dropped the 24-page book blurb from the front cover and placed a purple bar over the line mentioning the book, so this purple label pressing with the book and with the line on the front cover mentioning the book is a RARE ITEM.

Visual condition of record is a real nice EX with just one very small visible surface mark which cannot be felt and will not affect play.  Condition of cover is conservatively a low to mid VG+ with some ring and contact wear and a fair amount of wear and a little flaking along the edges and on the corners, no splits, tears, or any other flaws.
