Description

Beatles-O.P.D. (no label listed, matrix # Lipson A/B 12958)

Here is a basic description of this LP from the excellent Beatleg website (look up that site for much more info):

"Release Date: Late '69/Early '70 This undocumented early mix of the GET BACK album was first aired on September 20, 1969 by WKBW in Buffalo (from a tape they apparently had obtained from a Toronto radio station)."

Apparently this came out several months before the official "Let It Be" album. It should be noted that the original broadcast tape is from an acetate in less-than-perfect condition, so there are some pops and crackles embedded in the audio itself, especially when the old FM radio compression kicks in (this happens in all the quiet parts). Occasionally when you see this LP listed, it is noted that it "doesn't play as well as it looks." This is the reason why.

Condition: Cover is VG with some wear and a 1/2 inch seam split on one seam. The previous owner wrote his name on the inside of the cover (see picture). The record is in the VG range visually due to 3 prominent scuffs (one on side one, two on side two) but fortunately none of these have any effect on play. It plays very clean, at least VG++ but please bear in mind the crackle that is in the source tape. It would be hard to find a better playing copy than this. There is a small star sticker (see picture) on the side two label that I left on just in case it is part of the original, but I don't think it is.

Low minimum, no reserve. Happy bidding!
