Description
For auction is a lovely condition rare 4th U.K. stereo issue of THE BEATLES first album - PLEASE PLEASE ME from 1963 on the Parlophone label.
In 1963 stereo copies only sold about 10% of the number that mono copies did, so are much rarer. Rare 4th U.K. Stereo Press with the ‘Recording First Published’ text on the labels but no ‘sold in the U.K.’ text
The original Ernest Jones sleeve in VG condition - intact with no tears or writing but some discolouration and creases to laminate and minor damage to the fold over corner bottom right of the rear.
Original use Emitex inner sleeve in excellent condition.
Record labels - side 1 is VG and side 2 Excellent.
Very early 1GA and 1H stampers.
Visually side 1 Is truly excellent with only the wispiest of marks. Sonically plays superbly - EX+ - with only a few crackles between some tracks.
Side 2 is visually VG+ with one noticeable very shallow hairline but plays as well as side 1. No ticks sticks skips or jumps. All in all a wonderful sounding copy of a very rare album.
