Description

What It Is:

This is a very handsome 1965 pressing of the Beatles first album, Please Please Me in stereo with the Yellow and Black label. This is the 6th pressing (the 4th pressing of the Yellow and Black label). It has "The Gramophone Co." in the label, the "Sold in the U.K. Subject to..." legend. The jacket has "stereo" in small letters and it is a Garrod & Lofthouse jacket. The inner sleeve is the "ad" type.

The Jacket is graded VG+ with a beautiful front cover, and the disk looks and plays a solid VG++ (see the detailed condition section below). And it sounds superb!

Side 1:
  1. I Saw Her Standing There
  2. Misery
  3. Anna (Go To Him)
  4. Chains
  5. Boys
  6. Ask Me Why
  7. Please Please Me
Side 2:
  1. Love Me Do
  2. P.S. I Love You
  3. Baby It's You
  4. Do You Want to Know a Secret
  5. A Taste of Honey
  6. There's a Place
  7. Twist and Shout

Condition:

jacket:
(visual) VG+
Front: ring wear (scuffs, not dirty), 2" crease almost halfway up the cover about 1" in from the opening, bottom left corner 1" crease, wear on the corners. Having said all that, the laminated picture of the boys and all the text is clear, crisp, and unmarked -- it really looks nice. Back: discoloring near the opening, a stain (water?) about 3" up the spine flipback on the right and a little about 1" in from the bottom right corner, bottom right corner crease (matches the front crease), edges of flipback showing typical dark discoloration where the laminate ends.
record:
(visual) VG++
. a few very light spindle marks on side on, 5-7 heavier ones on side 2. the rest of the labels and the vinyl itself is beautiful, just a few light marks on side 2, and a light scuff on side 1 -- none of which are audible.
(play graded) VG++ . very slight, infrequent surface noise. Great sound!

Grading standards:

All items are visually graded, and if they've been play graded that will be noted. I follow Goldmine grading standards. My grading is conservative, at least as good as I would expect from anyone that I would buy from.

Payment:

I accept PayPal or personal checks (personal checks must clear before I ship). If you must return the item, it must be in the same condition that I sent it, but I will refund your full purchase price and return shipping cost within the USA (outside of the USA, I'll refund the bid price, but you must pay for return shipping unless I've made a serious error, in which case I'll pay shipping too) -- I guarantee your satisfaction.

Shipping cost and Insurance:

Within the USA: I ship via the US Postal Service, priority and media mail. Costs are based on the shipping weight and package size. Please contact me for shipping to other locations. As always, if your winning bid is above $50, I will pay for insurance within the USA.

Outside of the USA: I'm willing to ship outside of the USA, cost based on the winner's address and size and weight of the package. I usually insist on airmail for reasonable delivery time and better handling. I state the shipping size and weight in the ad so that you'll have an idea of cost, though final determination of shipping cost will occur when the auction completes. Unfortunately I can't offer free insurance as it often gets quite expensive for overseas shipment, however, I strongly advise that you select insurance as I cannot be responsible for delivery in another country.

A note about customs declarations: I will mark all auction wins as merchandise and list the winning bid as its value. Please don't ask to have it marked as a gift, or at a lesser price -- that only risks legal action (because it is fraud), and if customs opens the item they will probably charge you a customs fee anyway if they think that it goes over the legal value of a gift.

Thanks for looking and bidding!
