It has no "Sold in the UK' text nor 'Recording 1st published' text. Has 'the Parlophone label...' text running around the label perimeter. See scan. The first Yellow & Black label after the Black & Gold.

If you are confused about what is a '3rd' pressing and what is a '4th' pressing of this LP, then the blame probably lays with the "Record Collector Rare Record Guide". In the 2010 issue, the one on offer here was cited as a '3rd' pressing. However, in the 2012 issue, this suddenly became a '4th' pressing!

The reason for this is that the former 3rd pressing (with the surplus 33 1/3 on the label next to the XEX 421/2 numbers) was designated as the exclusive 3rd pressing and the one without the surplus 33 1/3 was re-designated as a 4th pressing. 

In reality, the one with the surplus 33 1/3 is simply a label error rather than an additional pressing but who's to argue with Record Collector.

Depending on which version of Record Collector you use, this is either a 3rd (2010) or 4th (2012) pressing i.e. it is the 1st pressing on the yellow & black label after the two Gold & Black label issues - but excluding the 33 1/3 label error version. 

Just to confuse you more, what were 4th pressings in the 2010 Record Collector have now been re-designated as 5th pressings in the 2012 issue  i.e. the ones with the "Recording First Published" text on the labels. Hope that's cleared it all up for you. 

Cover: This is the triple flip back E J Day cover with the rear triple flipbacks and large 'mono' text on the front cover. No seam splits. Clear readable spine. Has some light wear, light laminate creasing and a name on the rear - see photos.  Rates as Near Excellent.

Emitex inner poly-lined sleeve: Excellent. 

Labels: Excellent.  XEX421/2-1N. No writings/doodles/stickers. Some spindle hole wear.

Vinyl: Heavy duty 1st pressing vinyl. Play tested. Looks VG(-) with some marks/scratches and plays VG with some crackle/pops.

Gradings.......

Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.

Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.

Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratches.

Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and more significant scratches.

Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, it may even jump.

Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc

Bad - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
