THE BEATLES - PLEASE PLEASE ME Anybody that regularly purchases from us or just browses the listings will know that we very rarely wax lyrical and use superlatives in our listings,and only really use words of greater than one syllable when we happen across something exceptional, well this is one of those a very 1st pressing with the earliest of stamper codes in amazing condition . this record looks feels and plays like it was bought played a few times and put away to sit in a collection for 43 years. Red Label-"Recording first published 1963"-Small Parlophone rim text-No "Sold in the UK"-Dick James Credit-Catalogue 45-R4983-matrices - 7XCE 17217-1N/17218/1N-Stamper Codes - 9 o'clock MPT 1 - 3 o'clock G Details Type 7" SINGLE Sleeve See Below Inserts NONE Extras NONE Please refer to pictures opposite for details of Catalogue - year and overall label condition Grading/Condition Playing Surface (visual) Side A - Almost perfect to look at with a completely unmarked run in groove and smooth playing surface without even a hint of a scratch -there are just 2 very small surface blemishes about halfway through ,and they are very light. Side B - Again very clean with almost no playwear -and just a few very light surface marks long an inch or so of the run in where the disc has been exposed to the outside world. Overall graded : A: is a very good candidate for an EX++ . B: EX+ Quality (Audio reproduction) A
A lovely crisp and clear sound with no background or foreground noise and an almost perfect reproduction - we have sampled some of it so you can judge for yourself by clicking on the dancing girl icon below-the 1st 5 seconds of near silence is the run in groove.
Quality (Audio reproduction) B Again a great sound that is uncluttered and near to faultless. Labels Lovely condition - both labels are unmarked and unworn, with crisp and clear writing,and the large Silver parlophone really stands out-the centres are unworn,and with regard to spindlemarking- the A label has 1 very faint mark and the B label (a side playing) has a few very light marks,Overall a pair of very fine EX+ labels. Sleeve Here is why this is such a great find - It is in the original sleeve (type C with the correct LP's on the rear,for the purists),and not necessarily in the greatest condition, under normal circumstances we would put the record in another appropriate sleeve,but we are leaving it as part of the package, because somebody had the amazing foresight to line it with plastic, which has had the added effect of beautifully preserving this record for the last 40 odd years. MINT The Record itself is in Brand new condition OR with no surface marks or deterioration in sound Quality.The cover and inserts are in perfect condition EXCELLENT (EX) The Record shows signs of having been played,but there is very little lessening of sound quality.The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD (VG) The record has obviously been played many times ,but displays no major deterioration in sound quality,despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items,without major defects is acceptable. GOOD,FAIR,POOR,BAD Descriptions getting progressively worse until all you end up with is an ashtray ..The only records we will ever sell in these categories are for collection filling,and will be adequately described. Problem Solving Incorrect Grading The best way to buy a record is to pick it up study the surface of the vinyl and then make a decision,but as we all know this is not possible across the internet , and we all have to rely upon the judgment of others, and on occasions opinions differ,as responsible people we accept this,and always view such opinions with sympathy.Our policy is a simple one , we offer an unconditional refund including Post and Packaging costs for any items that do meet our grading in your opinion,we may sometimes ask for the item to be returned for evaluation,but in the main it is uneconomic for us to do this.and you get to keep the record for free.
