On offer here is a very rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by The Beatles called 'Please Please Me' and is a MONO UK 1st pressing!!!! THIS IS THE VERY VERY RARE 'BLACK & GOLD' 1ST PRESSING!!!! THIS IS ONE OF THE EARLIEST 'BLACK & GOLD' 1ST PRESSINGS WITH 'DICK JAMES' CREDITS FOR SONGS ON THE RECORD LABELS!!!!  IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THIS RECORD IS IN SUPERB CONDITION FOR A BLACK AND GOLD PRESSING!!!! 99% OF THESE BLACK & GOLD COPYS BARELY PLAY - AND OFTEN TURN UP IN TERRIBLE CONDITION. HOWEVER THIS COPY IS IN STUNNING CONDITION AND IS ONE OF THE BEST CONDITIONED COPIES OF THIS RARE 'BLACK & GOLD' PRESSING I HAVE FOUND!!!! HOWEVER - WHAT MAKES THIS BLACK & GOLD 1ST PRESSING A CUT ABOVE MOST OTHERS IS THAT IT HAS A VERY VERY RARE 'RIDGED' LABEL!!!!  TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURES - AND YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE ONE SIDE OF THE RECORD LABEL HAS A DISTINCTIVE 'RIDGE'!!!!  THIS IS VERY VERY RARE INDEED!!!!  THIS IS AN OUTSTANDING OPPORTUNITY TO OWN A 'REAL' PIECE OF HISTORY WITH A VERY VERY EARLY MOTHERS & STAMPERS TOO!!!! This is the ORIGINAL MONO UK 1st pressing from 1963 and is in STUNNING condition for its age!!!! It is a MEGA RARE 1st Pressing and it also has 'The Parlophone Company' edge text, and a Polythene lined Emitex inner. It also has the ORIGINAL 'Black & Gold' E.J.Day 1st Press cover with 'Angus McBean'  pushed far to the right on the cover front. It is also IMPORTANT to note - that NOT ALL of the Black and Gold covers were like this - only the very early copies. The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl. The matrix numbers are XEX 421-1N & XEX 422-1N. The stamper codes are 2/GO & 1/H. THESE ARE VERY VERY EARLY STAMPERS!!!! THIS IS A VERY VERY EARLY PRESSING!!!! The record also has an MT Tax coding. The Cat. No is PMC 1202 on the ORIGINAL Black & Gold Parlophone label (see picture) and is a MONO 1st pressing!!!! All the tracks are Pure quality Beatles at their best!!!! Any fan of The Beatles, or 60s music in general, will want to have this in their collection!!!!

The record labels are in STUNNING condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing, and only a VERY few light spindle marks!!!! LOOK AT THE LABELS (see pictures) - AS MANY COLLECTORS KNOW - THESE BLACK & GOLD LABELS OFTEN TURN UP WITH VERY DULLED WRITING, AND HEAVY WEAR. THESE LABELS ARE ONE OF THE BEST SETS I HAVE FOUND - IT IS VERY HARD TO GET BETTER!!!!  TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURES!!!!  IF IS VERY HARD TO FIND BETTER LABELS THAN THESE!!!!  The vinyl is in stunning condition for its age. As I mentioned before - most of these Black & gold copies turn up in barely playable condition and are heavily worn. This one is NOT and has a BEAUTIFUL shine!!!!  Even when held to light - the record has barely ANY blemishes and 99% of the WHOLE RECORD has a PERFECT shine with NO marks at all!!!!  The only blemishes to report is 1 line at the beginning of 'P.S. I Love You' which DOES NOT sound, and 1 TINY line at the end of 'Chains' - which again does NOT sound!!!!  Even under light the record only has a couple of MEGA light careless fingernail scuffs, and barely ANY paper scuffs AT ALL!!!!  VIRTUALLY everything is invisible except under INCREDIBLY bright light - and first impressions are of a MINT record!!!!  It is very VERY rare to find a copy of this LP in this sort of condition!!!!  Importantly it is also great to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual with NO pops, NO sticking, NO jumps, and NO crackle!!!! In fact I was VERY impressed with the clarity of this incredible record with NONE of distortion so often found on these early black and gold pressings. All the tracks play STUNNINGLY and even the gaps and run off groove are as near to silent as could possibly be expected!!!! REMEMBER - ALMOST ALL OF THESE BLACK AND GOLD RECORDS ONLY TURN UP IN 'JUST' PLAYABLE CONDITION - SO THIS COPY IS TRULY STUNNING IS EVERY RESPECT!!!! However I WILL NOT fall into the trap of overgrading to compensate for age and the record must PROPERLY grade visually Very Good++ if not better with the playing grade more like Excellent(Minus) if not FULL Excellent!!!! IT WILL BE VERY VERY HARD TO FIND ANOTHER COPY OF THIS RECORD IN THIS CONDITION AGAIN!!!! Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! The record also comes in its ORIGINAL POLYTHENE lined Emitex inner sleeve which is in STUNNING condition!!!!

The E.J.Day FLIPBACK 1st Press Cover is in STUNNING condition for its age!!!! It has NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, only slight corner wear (NO splits), a few light creases (cover is still remarkably flat looking) and NO writing!!!! The opening edge is RAZOR straight with NO feathering!!!! Even the unlaminated back of the cover is in STUNNING condition with NO writing, NO grubbyness (apart from a tiny TINY area in the bottom right hand corner - barely visible), and NO yellowing!!!! There is also NO splits, NO rips, and NO tears!!!! This cover has to be one the BEST CONDITIONED copies of the 'earliest' 'Please Please Me' Covers!!!! The only fault to mention is some typical slight creasing to each end of the bottom flipback (NO tears). The cover must grade Very Good+ if not better - with only the slight corner wear, and those slight creases to the bottom Flipback ends stopping a higher grading!!!!

It really is a GREAT looking LP and it is truly rare to find any copies of this RARE Beatles LP!!!!
