Becoming harder to find fourth Black & Yellow Parlophone stereo label design – used by Parlophone upto the summer of 1963.  

“THE PARLOPHONE CO….” perimeter label text.  

No  “RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED…”  label text – Parlophone only introduced this text from Summer 1963 to January 1964 (5th label design).

No  “SOLD IN UK…” label text - Parlophone only introduced that text from February 1964 onwards (6th label design).

“M T” tax code stamp around side2 centre-hole. 

YEX 94-1  /   YEX 95-1    matrix numbers.

1P  and  1G  stamper codes. 

Nice loud cut/pressing.   Disc weighs approx 165g on its own. 

PLEASE NOTE;   sleeve is clearly a lot later than mid 1963.  G&L glossy card sleeve without flip-backs.

CONDITION:       STRICT  U.K. MAGAZINE  'RECORD COLLECTOR'  GRADING SYSTEM USED.  I aim to provide an accurate and honest appraisal of condition.  It’s in my best interests to do so.  I WANT YOU TO COME BACK.    Records are checked in good natural light and play tested IN FULL at a high volume on a Pro-Ject Xtension 10 turntable fitted with an Ortofon 2M Red stylus (tracking at 2g).    Used records are cleaned using a Moth vacuum record cleaning machine prior to play testing, unless condition deems unnecessary. 

Playing condition ranges from GOOD+ to VG.      Audible surface noise/crackle in places – mostly in between tracks.  Occasional background groove wear on a couple of tracks on side1.    Occasional pops.     Overall, NO loud overbearing consecutive clicks  NO jumps.   NO sticking.

Visually, in good daylight, the record looks VG.    Several clearly noticeable surface marks – nothing that feels to the touch. 

Labels graded as VG+/EX-.   Spindle marks evident.   Slight wear around the centre-holes.    All label text clearly readable.  NO stickers.  NO writing. 

Sleeve is in VG- condition.   Would grade higher if not for a 3cm seam split on top edge.  Other light wear and scuffs.  Small minor creases.    All spine text perfectly readable.  NO stickers  NO writing.

Record Collector Magazine Grading System  - VINYL

MINT The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint

EXCELLENT (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG) The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratches. Normal wear and tear on the cover and extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable

GOOD (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeable deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and or deface

POOR (P) The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing

BAD (B) The record is unplayable or might even be broken and is only of use as a collection filler
