CONDITION: I strive to provide an accurate and honest appraisal of condition. It’s in my best interests to do so. I WANT YOU TO COME BACK! All records are checked in good light and play tested at a loud volume (unless described as sealed, brand new or stated otherwise). All used records are cleaned using a Moth vacuum record cleaning machine prior to play testing. STRICT U.K. MAGAZINE 'RECORD COLLECTOR' GRADING SYSTEM USED.
Playing condition is VG, with a couple of tracks a fraction lower, others a fraction better. Background surface noise/crackle in places – never enough to smother the sound recording, but audible all the same. Touch of distortion on some tracks. Some audible consecutive pops on ‘A Taste of Honey’, just lasting a few seconds. NO loud obtrusive crackle. NO jumps. NO sticking.
Visually the record is easily VG. The playing surface isn’t smothered with marks, but there several noticeable surface marks on each side. Tiny nick at the end of ‘A Taste of Honey’. Small mark that just about feels to the touch on ‘Boys’ which has negligible effect on play. Record still looks nice and clean and still retains a sheen. These early Parlophone pressings were made to quite a high standard and built to last.
Labels are EX-. Noticeable spindle marks and light wear around the centre holes. A couple of score marks on side2. All label text clearly readable. NO stickers. NO writing.
Sleeve is in VG- condition. Minor laminate creases. Bit of fraying to the flip-backs. Bit of discolouration in places on the back. The minus is only really for some obvious corner wear, other than that sleeve has a lot of pros. Front laminate still predominantly nice and clean. All spine text perfectly readable. NO seam splits. NO tears. NO stickers. NO writing.
Inner still in great nick. Still looks predominantly nice and white - touch of yellowing on the opening edge though. Bit of crumpling. NO seam splits. NO stickers. NO writing.
Parlophone advertising sheet has an obvious crease, but even with that still EX condition.
PLEASE SEE LARGE PHOTOS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE FOR TRACKLISTING AS WELL AS A GOOD LOOK AT CONDITION. PHOTOS ARE OF ACTUAL ITEM FOR SALE - NO MISLEADING STOCK PHOTOS USED.
Record Collector Magazine Grading System - VINYL
MINT The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint
EXCELLENT (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG) The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratches. Normal wear and tear on the cover and extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable
GOOD (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeable deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and or deface
POOR (P) The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing
BAD (B) The record is unplayable or might even be broken and is only of use as a collection filler
REFUND AVAILABLE IF BUYER THINKS DESCRIPTION IS INACCURATE OR MISLEADING ON RETURN OF ITEM.
